That's a pretty good price. I just bought a 14" Ryobi for a similar price about a month ago, but I would've gone with this instead if I could have.

recently paid a lot more for one but it also came with a much bigger battery and a case. Not sure a 2AH would be very useful.

FYI. With a 1.8kW motor, this 2.0Ah * 80V (160wHr) battery will cut for 5 minutes before the battery dies.

Can confirm.

I bought back in September 2023 for $208. Chain is kinda garbage, even after sharpening and tensioning it just doesn't cut as well as it should, jams often, chain falls off, and the tiny battery dies quickly. It leaks oil too, but I had not tried the tip of keeping the cap a little loose for pressurization. It's ok for really small jobs and quieter but a gas one is probably going to be better overall.

Just so wrong.

A lot of it depends on use conditions. I've personally used 2 ah batteries cutting down 14+" sycamores, popular, hickory and red oaks that were blocking sunlight to a food plot with a 16" saw. The sycamore was super tricky, required lots of time and at +-20" wide or so. My inexperienced butt had no business cutting that down from an opposite lean and landing it exactly where I wanted it in the other direction. Dang proud of myself and thankful all went well.

Obviously I ended up using multiple batteries cutting them all down. However, one battery per tree to fully cut down and de-branch is perfectly reasonable for a 2 ah battery.

I don't work fast because of health reasons, so I'm deliberate on executing good cuts and how to work efficiently through the disassembly of the trees.

I'd rather have 2, 2 ah batteries than one 4.

Or the 5ah like the 60v 18" kit from GW direct. A 2ah battery for this saw is extremely under powered for more than just a few cuts

I got an 80v 18" Greenworks saw at the end of '22, bundled with the pole saw. I thought it would be handier up on a ladder not having to pull start it, which it was. I had several trees near the house, lots of trimming before knocking them over.
Good saw. Seems heavier than my 20 year old 455 Rancher. I have the 4 ah. It does almost 3 cuts toward the base of a cottonwood, that's about it. I don't measure width but it takes going on both sides of the tree for each cut to get all the way through. I use it for light and quick stuff, but it's not practical for much (for me), small tree, sure. Power no problem, would just take a few batteries to be practical (again for me, not trashing it, good for occasional use). Last storm that went through I had 7 cottonwoods blown over to deal with.
