~30 mins of use and then you have to charge it. If you're getting a big chainsaw like this, you better have a large battery.

30min of cut time is pretty solid unless you are cutting a ton of fire wood. That's 30min wide open, probably 3 hours or so in the real world cutting before you have to charge it. Probably last long enough to where most people would need a break by the time the battery is drained.

Having owned this and one of the Dewalt electric chainsaws, the Greenworks saw I used for a few hours and hated it. The Dewalt chainsaw I still have has easily over 100 hours on it. The Greenworks I gave away when we moved. I only use battery-operated saws for felling and limbing. Battery SUCKS for bucking logs! If you have a lot of bucking to do, get a gas saw. The greenworks has WAY better dogs on it, but felt flimsy to me. In addition, it leaked bar oil ALL OF THE TIME!! I do not recommend the Greenworks saw.

Keep in mind there are various models of these chainsaws. There is a 1.8kw/2kw/2.5kw and even a 3kw model. They have the 3kw with 20 inch blade on ebay for $350.

Have this model but with a 4ah battery. If you're doing thicker logs it's going to wear that 2ah reaaaal fast. That being said, I've been using it nonstop for 2 years and it's a beast. I've cleared about an acre of trees without issue. If you have a second battery you can essentially run this nonstop

only a deal if you've got a downed tree you wanna deal with soon.
Honestly i don't think you're getting 30 mins of continuous cutting w a 2AH battery w this model. 30 mins of work counting repositioning, ok maybe.
The larger 2.5kw w the 4AH battery (which was under 170 shipped this fall) might cut 30 mins continuously but not more than that. If you have two other 2AH batteries you can use as much as you'd like. Has been fine save for leaking bar oil. I don't have enough work for a gas one.
