Trust me. I have one of these and you won't need the assist. This thing is a fidget factor king for the price. Probably my best deploy and closing knife for the price point. The only thing I have for under $100 that out performs the Iridium is the Civivi Vision FG (and I buy a lot of knives.) This is one of my favorite budget knives, and I am definitely picking up a second at this price.

I found the same. Definitely Civivi level action and nicer than any speed assist. I'm glad to se Kershaw go that route and do it well.

Bought a 2020 version of the statgear Ausus knife with a micarta handle and a D2 blade. paid $20.

Is that the kirkland signature version of knives? people were talking a better class of metal earlier in the thread

is there something better out there? ive loved this knife and have used it for all kinds of stuff.

GM, if it will live in a vehicle rather than in your pocket then one can't do better than an indestructible vintage made in U.S.A. Buck 110 209 g. I buy them used for half of what this China knife costs then send them to Buck for free reconditioning. Just got back a 45 year old 1980 3 dot which has a 440C blade with the BOS heat treatment. No sense talking about the steel if you don't consider the heat treatment. The factory sharpening and polishing is awesome. Your choice to re-sharpen the original or have Buck re-blade it with the current 420HC. Can also request a new leather sheath for $10.

The torsion bar (or torsion spring, depends on what pages you look at) is what the assisted open uses. Without it the blade will lock (it uses a frame lock) but it won't "snap" open when you press the thumb stud. It just kind of flops around. And yea, if you fill out the form on their site they will send you. new one for free. It's simple to swap out. Just pick "Parts Request Form" at the bottom: https://kershaw.kaiusa.com/warranty

Maybe you can help; I'm reading all these comments and perplexed by the bickering without even a shred of information about materials, quality, or why any of them would be better than my 20$ buck knife that has last me 24 years.
