CCC says this has been around $65 for basically the past year, as the prices of the other colors would seem to support. Still, a 25% ish discount!
I have 3 of the Ozarks and 2 already have broken omega springs.
CIVIVI's are on sale now, also. Excellent knives!

Does someone mind posting links to the other knives references here?

I'm a novice when it comes to this stuff, but I like to keep knives in various vehicles (boats, cars, etc)..:including on my personal on occasion and would love to grab a few
Is it to much for you or beyond your skill to just copy and paste the names into Google? You will stay a novice at everything if you can not even get that skill down. In the time it took you to ask for links you could have found all you wanted to know.

Ozark Trail or Kershaw? Decisions, decisions..
Seriously? Ozark is a Walmart brand. And not a particularly good one at that

Almost bought it, but then realized it is not assisted opening Kershaw. Other than that - awesome steel, and great knife for an unbeatable price - you can only get 8cr13moV steel for that price and D@ is much more superior steel. It was very tempting even though I don't really need yet another knife to my rather large collection Smilie
Trust me. I have one of these and you won't need the assist. This thing is a fidget factor king for the price. Probably my best deploy and closing knife for the price point. The only thing I have for under $100 that out performs the Iridium is the Civivi Vision FG (and I buy a lot of knives.) This is one of my favorite budget knives, and I am definitely picking up a second at this price.

I found the same. Definitely Civivi level action and nicer than any speed assist. I'm glad to se Kershaw go that route and do it well.

Kind of pricey for D2. They go about 1/2 of this.
Not sure why you're being downvoted. I love kershaw but totally agree that $50 for D2 is high.

No. It's not, but what is more nuanced is finding these specific deals mentioned in the comments.

Searches on Amazon, google and SD didn't produce links to the specific references.

Bought a 2020 version of the statgear Ausus knife with a micarta handle and a D2 blade. paid $20.

Is that the kirkland signature version of knives? people were talking a better class of metal earlier in the thread

is there something better out there? ive loved this knife and have used it for all kinds of stuff.

GM, if it will live in a vehicle rather than in your pocket then one can't do better than an indestructible vintage made in U.S.A. Buck 110 209 g. I buy them used for half of what this China knife costs then send them to Buck for free reconditioning. Just got back a 45 year old 1980 3 dot which has a 440C blade with the BOS heat treatment. No sense talking about the steel if you don't consider the heat treatment. The factory sharpening and polishing is awesome. Your choice to re-sharpen the original or have Buck re-blade it with the current 420HC. Can also request a new leather sheath for $10.

To be fair I also go through at least one or two torsion bars on my Kershaw leek every year. But they just mail you new ones when you ask. I might grab some springs off Amazon and see of they hold up better. Other than that it is hard to criticize it for $10.

I sent my leek in on warranty and they must've replaced the torsion bar but took a few weeks. That would cause the blade to have the ability to bend backwards even when "locked"? They'll just send free ones if I write them? I carry the leek and use it daily, and would hate to have to send it back for another few weeks. Thanks for the info.

The torsion bar (or torsion spring, depends on what pages you look at) is what the assisted open uses. Without it the blade will lock (it uses a frame lock) but it won't "snap" open when you press the thumb stud. It just kind of flops around. And yea, if you fill out the form on their site they will send you. new one for free. It's simple to swap out. Just pick "Parts Request Form" at the bottom: https://kershaw.kaiusa.com/warranty

Maybe you can help; I'm reading all these comments and perplexed by the bickering without even a shred of information about materials, quality, or why any of them would be better than my 20$ buck knife that has last me 24 years.
