10/3/2025.
Reports are that boost may may changed their T & C.
(Around 10/1/2025 . maybe, not clear)
Requiring activating phone and using service for some time.
(3 months?).
Do your research.
However, may not matter much as phone appears to be gone for good from boost website.

You must activate the phone on boost network within 30 days of purchase.
If not you may be charged the full MSRP of the Device(s).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
best practice=open the phone. activate the boost account. make a call or 2. send a text or 2
phone call &/or text just insures the phone number has been fully registered on the boost network
while not entirely necessary, just to be safe.
and not get a $600 bill or get sent to collections
[ which has happened to at least one user on this thread ]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
make sure u activate.
By checking this box I agree to e-transaction/e-signature, Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions. Once activated I authorize Boost Mobile to automatically charge my card monthly for my Boost Mobile services, taxes and surcharges. My service will not begin until my SIM is activated. If you do not activate your Device(s) on the Boost Mobile network within 30 days of purchase, you may be charged the full MSRP of the Device(s) (less your purchase price), if applicable, to the card used today or any alternative method. . I also agree to receive communications regarding this order via email, SMS, or phone call using the contact information provided

Buying multiple phones?
Consider this.
The first phone will be 120.
Subsequent phones (either purchased at same time on withing next few days) will be less.
Boost has a weird way of billing and its often confusion. No one has figured it out yet.
Many have made speculations:
For example. Below is from a user.
My first purchase cost me $125.90 in total then subsequently thereafter I purchased 2x more phones which came out to $94.84 each.
Since you bought the first phone at regular price, Boost treats any further purchases as an additional line since they're on the same account.
However, bear in mind Boost will automatically enable autopay again so be sure to disable it prior to your next billing cycle recurring.

I'd like to switch to retail but from what I've seen in the comments it sounds like each future update will require a manual flash using the Moto software and potentially even a full wipe. Is that correct?

" flashing the RETUS Android 15 firmware on your device (with a locked bootloader) will not change the software channel. However, it may place your phone on a different build than the Dish software channel. As a result, the device could stop receiving OTA updates entirely in the future"

What I'm really focused on is the wipe requirement. If a wipe is required after all updates, including security patches, then switching to retail is far more trouble than it's worth. Maybe I've got it wrong and a wipe is only needed on the initial flash and major OS updates?

Unlock bootloader flash RETUS then relock bootloader without bricking it. Then software channel and build number will match is only options to get OTA updates if flash to RETUS
When flash firmware it wipes the device.
From what I've seen, Moto's Android 15 releases have been somewhat buggy and very inefficient in terms of battery drain. More patches will be needed for sure so a flash retail A15 then forget it approach doesn't seem like a wise one.

So if anyone wants $60 back just use the 30 day money-back guarantee on service plan and disable autopay again the line stays active.
