Boost Mobile [boostmobile.com] has 512GB Motorola edge+ 2023 Smartphone (Boost Mobile Locked, Black) on sale for $59.99 + $60 1-Month Unlimited Talk/Text/Data Service = $119.99. Shipping is free.

This phone is now back in stock at Boost. It's a steal at this price still has better specs than most phones out there especially with 512gb of storage. I bought one on last years deal and was able to unlock it via one of the unlockers who were kicked off of eBay. Many didn't have the unlock codes yet back then but would assume their available now. YMMV. I currently use mine with Instabridge esim for 5gb of free data a month. Just bought another for my wife.

Note, on product page select "I don't want protection" or Boost Protect will be added to cart at $12/month.

Specs (source [motorola.com]):
Processor: Qualcomm SM8550-AB Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (4 nm)
Display: 6.7" 1080x2400 165Hz pOLED
RAM: 8GB LPDDR5X
Storage: 512GB
Operating system: Android 13
Battery: 5100mah
Cameras:
Rear Camera Hardware - 50MP, 1/1.5" optical format, f/1.8 aperture, 1.0µm pixel size | Quad Pixel Technology for 2.0µm, Omni-directional PDAF, Optical Image Stabilization, 50MP Ultrawide angle (114° FOV), Macro Vision, f/2.2 aperture, 0.64µm pixel size | Quad Pixel, Technology for 1.28µm, 12MP Portrait (2x telephoto), f/1.6 aperture, 1.22µm pixel size, Ambient Light Sensor
Front Camera Hardware - 60MP, f/2.2 aperture, 0.61µm pixel size | Quad Pixel Technology for 1.22µm

if you order with 10 days of service left it will charge $14 then adds that amount to account balance then charge you full $40 when activating it. If autopay is turned it automatically withdraws the difference. If autopay is turned off account balance goes to negative and rolls into next month bill along with another $40 for second month. So still paying $40 for 10 days of service.

Then you should be fine. I am a couple of days into my first month with 1 line, and I already have a $66.xx account balance. They can add whatever they want to that balance for next month. They can't send you to collection for not paying the next month's balance, otherwise I would be on the hook for the $66 account balance with just 1 line. The $40 they add to the next month's balance is just the amount you need to prepay for next month. It's weird that they charge you immediately if you have auto pay on, but that doesn't mean it's just immediately.

it adds $40 for current month and next month the bill +$80 you can see it charges full price for activation under payments>payment history

Got it, thanks. That's really strange. So they add two months of service plus the prorated amount for the current month. Can't imagine them sending you to collections over payments for future service since it is prepaid, but I have never done this, so who knows.

Btw, another data point on unlock locks. Was able to unlock my phone within 3 mins. You will need a sim from a different provider to bring up the unlock dialog. Total was $14.95.

Tried unlocking my Boost Moto Stylus 2024, but that request failed after about 10 mins and they refunded me immediately.

Yeah, only the 2023 Moto phones were unlockable by code for some reason.

Before you unlock your phone. Check your phone imei on those big three and their mvno.
Almost all of them accept the imei.

I thought Verizon didnt but I was doing it wrong. After using a clean browser Verizon did accept. However seems to be physical sim only they will gray out the esim option after recognizing the IMEI (keeping with that carriers dont seem to recognize this as an esim phone as esim probably isnt officially supported). The only two carriers I have IMEI checked are Verizon and Visible.

Visible does not, here is the message

"Your phone isn't compatible with our network
Device: MOTO EDGE PLUS 2023 BYOD

IMEI: blah blah

Don't worry, we have plenty you can choose from!"

Sucks for me if visible is your preferred carrier. But you can easily use the iphone workaround to get a physical sim with visible, just have to wait 3-5 days shipping.

It seems to have a working slot, but not necessarily officially supported. Depends on carrier integration I guess.

With visible i dont think so unless I dont understand something, I dont think it's possible to use esim with visible on this phone.

If another carrier has a generic process, I assume it is. Some people have used the esim in this thread. If theres something you can click to download a (generic?) esim that should work.

esim is not shown in settings fresh, maybe only after use of an esim, but by all accounts the capability is there.

just the last 2-5 pages there is informative talk about this.

unlock or lock shouldn't matter if i understand correctly.

I am using Visible eSIM on this Edge+ 2023, bought from Best Buy unlocked. This is a great price for this phone.

I ordered one, but my order didn't go through at first. So I ordered more. So to make the story short, I have 2 extra ones I got unlocked. Can I sell them on ebay or swappa you guys think? How much do they sell for?

HUGE improvement over 2022 IMO. Doesn't get near as hot and battery last far longer.

That's weird.

I just posted an alternative, cheaper, source for unlock and the post was removed. Since when does SD do stuff like that?

Anyways, I found a cheaper unlock site. The webpage is janky and I never got a confirmation email, but they take PayPal payment (so basically risk-free), and after you pay you can click "support" and "order tracking form" and enter your IMEI and email and it will give you your code within just a few minutes in my experience. Like I said, I never got a confirmation email OR a code via email and the page errored out after I made the payment, but low and behold all the info including the unlock code was right there on the "order tracking form" page under support.

The code worked fine for me.

It's only $7.90 versus the site that most on here have been using.

It's literally just "simunlock" with what usually goes on either side of that in your address bar.

Good Luck

This site (i-imei) says you can get a Motorola unlock code for 3 bucks. I have not tried it.
