Boost Mobile [boostmobile.com] has 512GB Motorola edge+ 2023 Smartphone (Boost Mobile Locked, Black) on sale for $59.99 + $60 1-Month Unlimited Talk/Text/Data Service = $119.99. Shipping is free.

This phone is now back in stock at Boost. It's a steal at this price still has better specs than most phones out there especially with 512gb of storage. I bought one on last years deal and was able to unlock it via one of the unlockers who were kicked off of eBay. Many didn't have the unlock codes yet back then but would assume their available now. YMMV. I currently use mine with Instabridge esim for 5gb of free data a month. Just bought another for my wife.

Note, on product page select "I don't want protection" or Boost Protect will be added to cart at $12/month.

Specs (source [motorola.com]):
Processor: Qualcomm SM8550-AB Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (4 nm)
Display: 6.7" 1080x2400 165Hz pOLED
RAM: 8GB LPDDR5X
Storage: 512GB
Operating system: Android 13
Battery: 5100mah
Cameras:
Rear Camera Hardware - 50MP, 1/1.5" optical format, f/1.8 aperture, 1.0µm pixel size | Quad Pixel Technology for 2.0µm, Omni-directional PDAF, Optical Image Stabilization, 50MP Ultrawide angle (114° FOV), Macro Vision, f/2.2 aperture, 0.64µm pixel size | Quad Pixel, Technology for 1.28µm, 12MP Portrait (2x telephoto), f/1.6 aperture, 1.22µm pixel size, Ambient Light Sensor
Front Camera Hardware - 60MP, f/2.2 aperture, 0.61µm pixel size | Quad Pixel Technology for 1.22µm

so are folks activating with the boost sim that is sent?

T&C state:

By checking this box I agree to e-transaction/e-signature, Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions. Once activated I authorize Boost Mobile to automatically charge my card monthly for my Boost Mobile services, taxes and surcharges. My service will not begin until my SIM is activated. If you do not activate your phone on the Boost Mobile network within 30 days of purchase, you may be charged the full MSRP of the phone (less your purchase price), if applicable, to the card used today or any alternative method.
I also agree to receive communications regarding this order via email, SMS, or phone call using the contact information provided.

Which means keep paying $25 for the whole year?

That I don't know. I didn't have a reason to activate that way. I also didn't want to chance a chargeback of the phone's full cost trying something like that.I did note that the self activation would fail if it didn't detect the SIM in the phone. Maybe it's possible if you activate through customer support... someone with more knowledge on the subject, please chime in.
Yes you can activate on website without turning phone on. Once new line is activated the order changes from processing to complete under payments>order history meaning you won't be charged full MSRP

Not a problem just flashed lineage OS myself. Skip all steps during first start up. Toggle oem unlock, pull code in fastboot mode, submit to moto unlock site, unlock bootloader. then using software fix update to latest Android 14, download latest RETUS Android 15 from lolinet, unzip and rename folder to match dish Android 14 latest release folder then replace A14 folder with renamed A15 folder in ProgramData/RSA/Downloads/RomFiles. run recovery again and you will be on A15 RETUS. from there follow 10 step guide on the official lineage website. read all instructions and footnotes twice. LineageOS 22.2 requires A15 base. And Lineage 23.0 just had its first test build published for the Edge could be having a stable A16 in a few weeks.
Sorry to bother you.

The RETUS Android 15 firmware from lolinet is intended for the XT2301-4 model.
However, the Edge+ device has the original model number XT2301-1.
Also, the LineageOS installation guide specifically states: "Make sure that your model number is XT2301-1."

Does this difference matter?

Can I flash the XT2301-4_RTWO_RETEU_15_V1TRS35H.60-33-5 firmware?

Glad you asked. Looks like you selected retEU instead of retUS. Go back and insure you select retUS it will show the firmware being for XT2301-1. Then select the most recent release which will be at the bottom of the list. XT2301-1_RTWO_RETUS_15_V1TRS35H.60-33-5_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_cid50_CFC

Reminder. bootloader unlocking required for flashing a custom rom needs to be done on the original DISH firmware. Once it is unlocked you are free to flash whatever firmware and factory reset the phone, the bootloader will remain unlocked. It is possible to flash over RETUS without unlocking the bootloader but to have an unlocked bootloader on RETUS firmware it needs to be unlocked before you change over.

The two main custom roms being maintained are LineageOS and DerpFest. Lineage can be run with GAPPS (playstore/default Google suite of applications) or without GAPPS where you can select your preferred applications, use MicroG/gmscore to run apps that have dependencies on Google. Lineage is not rooted out of the box. DerpFest has GAPPs prepackaged in the install file and is already rooted out of the box you need only to download the KernalSU APK to manage root permissions and install modules

Yes its prorated when order the second/third line but when try activate it charges full $40 not sure why it even prorates since it still charges full amount. Even if only have week left of service on first line then account balance goes to negative if autopay is turned off then it added to next month bill. If leave Autopay on while activating it will automatically topup to fix the negative balance.
There seem to be some contradictory statements being made here. On a 2nd or 3rd line for phones ordered later, do they really charge another month of service upon activation of those lines? desi is saying no, but Jaggsta is saying yes?

I'm trying to understand if wanting to get a second phone, is it still better to order it sometime after ordering the first phone within 30 days? I understand from reading prior posts there would be a pro-rated service charge when ordering the second phone this way. But if they are charging the full service fee for the second phone upon activating it, then it makes no sense to order it this way and pay the extra pro-rated charge. Is it then better to just order the 1st and 2nd phone together in a single order?

Newest orders have 3/2025 manufacture dates. I got 4 with 6/26/2024 at end of July with battery drained.

They package them at 50% battery so 13% drain in 5 months mine should of had 10% battery or so left.

I think all the ones in the thread are still working, it's the older unlocker services on ebay that are gone (ebay policy terminated them). The ones that have their own website should be fine
