The brand is fine, but with all dietary supplements there is usually 0 reason to take any unless your doctor tells you otherwise - a lot might not do harm (some can), but they won't do anything either and you're just throwing money away. Go to your doctor, get blood work done annually and they will tell you if you're actually lacking anything. I take a Vitamin D pill as there isn't a lot of sun here and I was deficient. If you aren't deficient in anything, no reason to take anything - some supplements can actually poison you as the dose is too high.

If you take vitamin d supplement, you need to take vitamin k2 with it, either the mk4 or mk7 variant. Mk7 has a much longer half life and is in fermented foods which aren't as common in everyday diets like mk4 is with eggs and chicken. Vitamin D and k2 work as a team for calcium absorption in bones and teeth.

I have a chewable zinc from Walmart that I take when I'm sick. I can tell the sickness doesn't last quite as long.

Studies have actually shown that taking zinc in the first 24hrs of a cold reduces length and severity of symptoms.

Label says it's "Zinc Gluconate" which means this is 100% synthetic Zinc. I'll pass and get the real stuff.

well Doctors are not Nutritionists unless they have done the extra work to have a clue regarding these issues. they are taught very little nutrition in med school.
they are taught aleopathic medicine which is a pharmaceutical medicine, and have little regard for the other modalities of medicine like herbs or vitamins.
you don't go to your plumber to get your car fixed people.
same with doctors et al, find someone who understand the issues. an herbalist understands herbal medicine if you care. start there.

you are thinking Zinc oxide, which is not too good.
gluconate is readily absorb-able.

Not a good product. Excessive quantities of low grade excipients. Zinc is one of the least expensive supplements. I'm not going to cheap out to save two bucks. Side effects from excipients and impurities vary from upset stomach to malaise. And it's unpleasant to swallow large hard pills.

Might want to try Zinc Picolinate or glycinate.

Bounty in the name arose from the brilliant strategy to turn the highest profit by hawking low grade China sourced ingredient in oversize green containers.

NOW brand is reliable quality and available in several formulations.

Insufficiency in men is correlated with low T. Supports the immune system. Excessive Zn intake is harmful.

"Consuming too much zinc can be harmful. The upper limit of safe intake (UL) for zinc is 40 mg per day for adults. Taking more than this amount can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and other health problems."
