Just picked one up at my local warehouse. They had one on display too with the $499.97 clearance tag. The original price that their system shows is $899.99, which was already a decent price as far as the LG grams go.

For comparison, the MSRP on the similar configuration but with 32GB of RAM was $1,700+ (admittedly unrealistic). Best Buy was clearancing this 32GB RAM configuration for $1440, and a few Microcenter stores which still have them are selling them for $1000.

Oos for me, grab it if you're able. For $500, this is a very solid productivity machine. Love my 17" Gram.

Have u used a oled laptop? I own the 16" asus zephrus gaming laptop with rtx 4070 and oled screen and the brightness is like 500 nits in hdr mode. Not just that but oled color production has to be experienced in person instead of watching youtube etc.

It's my 1st oled laptop and I will never ever go back to a non OLED screen again. I played Elden Ring in hdr mode and saw colors that I never experienced during my 1st play run on a older non oled monitor.

My desktop rig is also paid with a LG 39" OLED monitor.

But to say OLED is impractical on a laptop is far from true.
They make this configuration with an OLED display and it adds almost $1000 to the build. To pretend that $500 is a bad deal with no OLED screen is simple ignorance. This is an insane deal for a laptop that is military-grade construction with a weight of around 3 lbs or less, and insane battery life. Perfect for most use except gaming.

I was able to purchase one - but the box didn't come with a charger, only the laptop itself. What type of charger comes in the box?

16GB used to be so much. Now when I run 16GB, I sometime hit memory limits. Apps and web and lots of tabs. 32GB seems the way to go these days.

The LG gram I got was flimsy. I don't know about the current ones.

This would be great for someone who's been considering apple for its build quality but doesn't need to have MacOS. I just have no need for it.

Apple build quality is about the same as everybody else's.

After a few LG laptops

The pros are
1) the light weight, and
2) new laptops are USB C charging.
3) great battery life

The cons are
1) compatibility with USB C docks is flaky.
2) key board flex is silly, especially the older silver color models
3) the matte touch screens are best not touched, they are oil magnets and really hard to clean
4) the only expandability is adding an SSD
5) non-standard keyboard layout gets time to get used to

but at a $500-$700 price point they are great work machines.
At the premium prices they are now charging on Costco for "AI" machines, go with premium lines of known brand names

Mobile AI processing is largely a joke right now. The CPUs almost all have tiny amounts of RAM, little bandwidth, and slow processing. Only AMD and Apple are shipping systems with enough RAM bandwidth and RAM to do mobile AI worth much. There are full GPU systems too, but they are severely VRAM limited.

Likely the last one/floor model. Purchased one at this price back in March as a floor model.
