I have had the 16" variant for about 6 months and it has served me great. Battery life is the best I have seen on a windows machine (14" should only be better) but still a bit worse compared to sky high expectations they set. My work issued Mac M1 lasts significantly longer and has better "always on" implementation. I paid around 500 for it new though thanks to samsung edu deal and trade in of 20$ eBay laptop and selling a watch ultra they discounted with it for a profit of 100$ or so.

If you consume a lot of media and you don't have a nice TV screen for youtube or watching movie, AMOLED is the flagship screen to have. For this price I would say it is quite a good catch- half the price of a flagship smartphone is super-responsive vibrant OLED display. AMOLED is like having a 14-inch Samsung Galaxy screen. I tried some cheap OLED and to my horror I will never forget the pink-colored "N" of Netflix!!!

I had this and retuned it. Amazing battery life, beautiful screen, super lightweight and portable. It's quick too if you are just using it for basic office work. The two issues I had are that I hated the keyboard, it felt cheap because the clicks were so shallow and almost hollow feeling. Since I use it to type all day when on the go it was a deal breaker. Also, Samsung for some reason has major issues with the device connection features where you can use your Samsung tablet as a second screen. There are work around online using other programs but it surprises me they can't consistently get it figured out. I have an S9 ultra and s10 ultra tablet and neither of them would work. I even tried buying the Samsung Galaxy pro book 5 because I wanted to see if it was an issue with the laptop or that specific model and it was still an issue.

This is a great deal for some, def worth it at this price point if you are not picky on keyboards

Snapdragon processors have always been used for mobile devices, especially android phones. He's implying it won't be as powerful as a regular laptop, which is probably true. Having said that, even regular laptops aren't as powerful as regular laptops because Intel chips, especially ULV (ultra low voltage) variants, will throttle the shit out of themselves and underclock every time they sense ambient temps might have reached "shorts weather" levels.

I don't think anyone really has complaints about the performance of snapdragon silicon on laptops, its really compatibility with native non-ARM apps. Almost everyone can get away with it, but the reason most snapdragon laptops are marked with frequently returned on amazon and there are so many open box models at Bestbuy stores is because of the people who have one or two must use apps that don't work well on these.

That is not the issue he's alluding to. These Qualcomm CPUs are really good on a hardware level.

The issue is software support. Intel and AMD are both x86, this one is based on the ARM isa. For an application to run on this machine, it either needs a native ARM version, or it needs to run through Microsoft's Prism emulator, which is hit or miss. A sizeable percentage of games are unplayable, a few Adobe apps don't work, and most printer drivers don't work at all on windows ARM PCs.

I have this exact model and love it. I wanted to try an arm64 windows laptop since the x elite announcement.
Great screen, great battery life, light, and premium.
I haven't had too much difficulty adjusting to arm. I never played games on my laptop and generally just use a web browser and 365 applications. Discord is nearly unusable so I just run it as a webapp. I like the short, snappy throw of the keyboard but it is a little rattly.

I uninstalled the majority of the Samsung bloat and software, and it's given me much more battery life. I'm going on my 3rd semester with it in college and has been reliable. Standby time is great too, but I really think it has to do with removing all the Samsung crap on it and also utilizing ARM based software/apps and not emulating.

Have you used the Intel 226v or 258v with 16-24 hr battery life?
