Stonking deal, the resolution is the only "con" here but it's hardly an issue at all at this price

I haven't done a lot of research lately is this processor good enough to run high end games?

300 nits is also pretty dim. At 800 dollars this gets a pass but full price no way, 400nits minimum.

Thank you for the response but it literally says 16 GB on board and also the 512 MB hard drive is easily upgradable so I'm not worried about that my only concern was how good the processor is I know the 4070 will keep up for what I need for

I think this is a review of this laptop.

This appears to be an excellent deal for a mid range gaming laptop.

DDR4 with this generation video card and CPU are kind of a bummer. My 3060/12th gen i7 has DDR5 in the build, I think it's probably two years old by now also.edit, just checked. 2022 manufacture date, 16GB DDR5-4800MHZ by default on the Acer Predator Helios 300, purchase price of $999.99.

Very tempting, I prefer a Ryzen CPU and also would prefer DDR5 ram as mentioned above, but this still looks like a great deal on an open box. Have like 3 around the Chicagoland area.

Just FYI Asus does not honor Best buy open box warranties( Asus has been telling people three things, you will get whatever was left on it from previous purchase, 3 months from the purchase date, or SOL), so make sure you test fully the laptop and buy the extended warranty if you are worried about it.

MSRP is quite high- but the open box prices here are pretty solid.

As usual, nothing within a 2 hour round trip from me despite being in a large city. I'm convinced they ship all these into the middle of nowhere before marking them down.

Worst take on a laptop. A 1080p/1200p screen is both best for battery life and framerate.
