I own two of these. They're great and high quality. They wind in such a way so that the hose doesn't kink and the connectors are all well made so that there is no leakage. For the record, these were $100 for a while and then dropped back to 80 recently. Great deal!

nope. they are pieces of crap in direct sunlight. you will be lucky to get a couple of years out of one. Buy a metal one that will last a lifetime..

Much better to buy used on the FB Marketplace. People sometimes even give them away.

This was my experience as well. The other issue that happened with mine was the plastic gears cracked and stripped out. I guess the weight of longer hoses really stresses them out.

Interesting. I guess time will tell. I'm a year in with no issues, though mine are in the shade most of the day and I use a pretty light weight hose.

I feel like my dad, this was 19.99 in 2016 when I bought my house. Still using it, but leaks a little.

Yes it was at this price a week ago and I bought one. It's indeed a very nice hose reel for $45. I was looking at FB Market place but why pay $20 for a beat up used one when I can get a much nicer new one for not much more. At this price, I would even consider getting another even though I really don't need one more.

It arrived with a little bit damage with gear cover popped out of place likely from the box being dropped or pressured at one corner. I was able to get it back in place. It was originally held in with plastic rivets and a couple of them broke off so I secured it with a couple added screws. Amazon did compensate me with a partial refund so I ended paying very little and very happy with this. It's large and study. Mine has 150ft of hose in it without any issues. Tracked hose guide is a nice feature but I find it not working as well as I had hoped, still a lot better than not having one though. Foldable crank handle is a nice touch.

I have had good experience with Suncast reels and I have had 3 of them for nearly 10 years, This one is replacing a large reel cart that worked really well for all these years. Contractors working on my driveway last year broke off the out connector on the reel and I have yet to find a replacement.

Anyone use one of those fabric hoses in one of these? I don't even care if it twists up inside. I'd rather pull it completely out every time I use it than try to wrap it up into a flower pot like I do now only for it to mysteriously tangle the next time I take it out. I have a nice aluminum one for my 100' traditional hose at the other spigot but it's hidden away. Not exactly stylish.

I've had this exact one for over 8 years. Paid $45 for it in July 2017 from Lowe's. It has held up well, for 5 years in moderate heat climate, then the past 3 years in 100 degree+ summers. No issues with cracking or leaking. I'd buy it again once this one fails and it was way nicer than a cheap metal one that you have to manually wind up.

Color works fine for me too, as it fits in fine w/ most outdoor decor. Nature color.

These are great at creating a natural hiding spot for every kind of insect and critter. I would avoid these if possible.
