Some parts are solid, like the upholstered outer boards, although they are a waste of space. The center stand, however is the worst part of any bed I have ever seen.
It's flimsy and folds sideways and forward and backward so that it is never really supporting you in the middle. Also, the plastic caps at the end of the box iron wore through and left deep square gouges in my oak floors.
This is the worst bed I have ever seen or owned.
I might go so far as to say it effed my back up (literally
I'm in PT right now) but that was my fault for sleeping on it after it failed so miserably. And then sleeping in a hammock, yada yada.

This is quite concerning, indeed. Would you say some extra padding might help protect the floor? What kind of padding, if not plastic or wood, would resist the wear from this bed?
