Costco has 32GB Vivobook 14 for the similar price. If 14 inch is the preferred onehttps://www.costco.com/asus-vivob...08890.html
Screen size difference aside, how does this CPU compare to the Intel?

I'm not a gamer and would mostly use this to surf the internet and rip movies. Sometimes use Handbrake to compress them.
My Asus Flip 14 (2018) is ancient by now, so I'm sure both are a massive upgrade.

looks like a decent laptop specs wise.
but for that price I'd highly recommend the Yoga 9i (?) model.

the build quality is apple like (I hate to say that)
Where are you finding a Yoga 9i for $1000? They cost over $1500, which is MSRP for the Zenbook

Really nice deal on a near unicorn. 24gb is actually brilliant on this device, because you can select the amount of RAM to allocate as VRAM on the chip. If you're planning any gaming on this (~3,750 in Time Spy), you could set 8gb for the built-in GPU and still have 16gb for everything else.

Costco has one for $1,050 but with 32 GB RAM. Is that a better deal? https://www.costco.com/ASUS-Vivob...76349.html.

Also we can get 3 years accidental protection for $99

The Costco one you referenced is a Vivobook, not a Zenbook, and is 14" and not 16".

I own a ROG G14 2024 version. Its a speedy machine and gaming is great with RTX 4060, for me touchscreen would be nice but not a big deal. My primary gripe is the oversized no button touchpad, hard pass. When I don't have a mouse connected, the touchpad is an issue. Also, the camera has no privacy shutter, the cameras is always open (and on?). Alienware surprisingly the way to go still, performance and smaller mousepad/touchpad... the price though! 😭 Need to save lol.

Yes, missed the screen size. I prefer 14" so will go with Costco one. Thanks for pointing out.

And here I thought it was to allow lightning fast speed and reliability. Is your glass always half-empty?
