Dang, that's $30 less than the cost of the battery. Great deal.

Man I don't move into my house for another month... I can't justify getting this now and moving it with me lol. Hopefully another deal pops up.

Convenient. I was just looking at this string trimmer last weekend and decided to wait until a sale since I had already borrowed my in-laws gas Husqvarna. I am certain I will like this much more (already have a blower, chainsaw, and mower from Ego).

Highly rated on wire cutter. I got one a few months ago and think it's great for the price. Paid $160 a few months ago too

Looks like it goes on sale every few months. But compared to previous deals, this is on the better side of the pricing it looks like. I just did a quick skim of "ego powerload trimmer" search on here.

Consider Ryobi as well unless you want to get into the EGO universe for their tool selection.
Ryobi 40v is a great option for smaller yards. Compare their tools and add-ons offerings.
A couple of decades ago, I started with Ryobi gas trimmer and their 18v yard tools. I upgraded to the Ryobi 40v system recently since I had the EXPAND-IT edger for the gas system (which eventually became hard to start). The 40v brushed string trimmer and edger do a great job. The power compared to the 18v is impressive. I plan on buying the 40v blower when on sale.
I bought the 40v EXPAND-IT trimmer at DIRECT TOOLS when they had a 50% coupon. The tools there are reconditioned or factory blemished, but the "factory blemished" are new in box tools. The occasional discount (40% or 50%) makes them cheaper than Home Depot prices and sales.

Tempted but tired of picking up all the pieces of broken string. Anyone have a suggestion for a compatable easy/dependable conversion kit? I've seen blade types, wire types, and others- not sure which way to go. Many thanks.

Got it for $179, the last time it was on sale at Lowes. Wish I had bought the combo with the blower that was $100 more. I regret not buying that. Great trimmer. Easy to reload the string.

If I'm also in the market for a blower would this be a better deal for $250? https://www.lowes.com/pd/EGO-56-v...5014702047

It is inconvenience to edge the lawn because it has no edge wheels.

Got an Ego string trimmer at the start of summer that I really like. Lots of power, feels about the same as my old Toro gas powered that broke down on me.

I have a 2 acre property and it usually takes me 1.5 of the 2.5AH batteries to get though it all.

One thing that really helped is getting the shoulder strap kit, that kind of is a must because of the weight of this thing.

Just got the 20in chainsaw and love it. This is a good deal but was looking at the multi head for my next purchase.
