Don't know what they are referring to but mine has a clear case. The 2024 version non plus I got from total wireless for $100.

It's my work phone now. Dropped it in our parking garage pretty bad (has pits in the aluminum) and the screens survived without any issue just like my iPhone.

its a shame that these devices get only 2 to 3 years or only 2 major updates. Honestly there should be some legal requirements to support these devices at least for 5 to 6 years to avoid the e waste.
