Unless it is significantly cheaper or you really really *really* like Yamaha sound there is no reason to go for the Yamaha over this at this price.

This or Yamaha Aventage RX-A4A?
This is newer, powers 9 channels internally, 2 independent sub outs, includes Dirac Live and access to DLBC.
Ha, I'm in the same boat. My ~12 year old RXV-673 just died and sticker shock is one way to put it. Even used ones on FB are $4-500. I paid $400 back then, so having to pay double is crazy. Seems like a good deal though.
Hmmm glanced on OfferUp here & found several comparable to your receiver, price range was $85-$150. Yes as far as new, if you need 9 channels & after Dirac this is the way to go in my experience.
I ended up buying last night after going back and forth.

So if I have only 1 sub I still have to buy DLBC?

This is as cheap( perhaps less) than the front page deals that were on the now 4+ year old RZ50
I dont own this unit and cant speak to long term personal experience of it
But the RZ50 (that I used to own) was a phenomenal unit for me
In fact A/B in my home in a 5.1 system with bookshelf speakers and each models out of the box room correction. I didn't like the Denon X4800 any better
In fact, I preferred the Onkyo due to the standard Dirac room correction
Here is the manual that can answer other questions.
