if the bolt head is being stripped (rounded I assume you meant) it's because:

over torqued
incorrect wrench used
the person working on car shouldn't

Use the correct socket and you won't strip it
I think that the point is that there ARE times in life when someone else might change your oil. This world is replete with stories of fumbled oil changes by incompetent mechanics [sic].
So, a 13mm might be setting one up for eventual Jiffy Lube malpractice, while a 16mm hedges against that risk.

Thanks OP bought two seems to fit my 2015 Durango. Keep a couple just in case.
You keep multiple spare oil pan bolts for a single vehicle? is that because new guys at the quick lube, or some reason I'm not imagining because I feel like if you either lose a bolt or mangle one yourself something's very very wrong.

You can't follow a conversation. The person I quoted does not have this and said he didn't need one.

I personally don't like the idea of such a small head on a M14 bolt.

I'd rather have a 17mm hex head, like what is probably from factory.

I guess one advantage is that you can weld a nut to it pretty easily if you do strip the head.

I ordered 4 for this price point for 2024 Hyundia Kona...29lb torque isn't much with correct socket size...o-ring/gasket they say last 3-4 oil changes before it hardens.
