if the bolt head is being stripped (rounded I assume you meant) it's because:

over torqued
incorrect wrench used
the person working on car shouldn't

waiting for my car to be finished late one sunday evening at Walmart ... the crew was running around like Crazy... they had Lost the plug to someones oil pan.. NO auto parts places were open... Next day, I bought a Spare plug, put in my glove box.....

So, a 13mm might be setting one up for eventual Jiffy Lube malpractice, while a 16mm hedges against that risk.

I personally don't like the idea of such a small head on a M14 bolt.

I'd rather have a 17mm hex head, like what is probably from factory.

I guess one advantage is that you can weld a nut to it pretty easily if you do strip the head.

I ordered 4 for this price point for 2024 Hyundia Kona...29lb torque isn't much with correct socket size...o-ring/gasket they say last 3-4 oil changes before it hardens.

13mm head on a 14mm thread seems like a mistake but it rhymes so it must be good. My LS has a 15mm head on a 12mm thread.

No, some of us will never end up at Jiffy Lube, or anywhere comparable. No one touches my vehicles besides me. The only time in the past 20 years anyone has changed my oil was by accident - mechanics came to my warehouse to work on corporate trucks and did an oil change on my work truck thinking they we're doing the whole row. Free oil change for me, and those guys are excellent fleet mechanics, not the type that strip oil plugs. 13mm is fine, I know how to use a torque wrench.

Why are you so worried about someone keeping extra $2 parts around, especially ones in a very common size? Jeez, of all things to worry about, you pick this? And that rubber o ring doesn't last forever. Plus some people seem to think these are made to be stripped (which I disagree with).
