The main sensor (IMX335) is pretty old. STARVIS 2 sensors work way better, especially for night recording, and they don't cost much more at the same 2K recording. Just note that the IMX335 is also only a 5MP sensor and can't shoot 4K!

fake 4k at $40 is fine but this offers nothing more besides a lazy use case to keep it charged for who knows how much longer; won't charge during night time which is when you are going to need it the most
Spend more money and buy VIOFO brand dash cams. This is almost as good as just telling someone what happened.
tbh, I had been using a 10 year old Anker Roav C1 dash cam (720p) for the past several years. it has been good enough for insurance to show that it wasn't my fault each time someone hit me.

That's a joke. Hardwire IS still required by the rear cam. And that rear cam hardwiring is even more work than the power hookup part.
