To me I'm treating that as $400, then $200 into my UA travelbank with the airline credit, $200 in uber credits I'll for sure use, and I've already offset all but $95 of the AF.... I use U1 a few heavy travel months a year so say $30 value there.... meaning I only need to get $65 in value out of:
$300 entertainment credits
$600 in hotel credits (they are hardish to use since they're at overpriced hotels though)
$300 in lulelemon credits (again INSANELY overpriced, but still it's say 1 free shirt a quarter or something)
Plus the existing benefits that again I wouldn't pay for myself but have SOME small value (W+, Clear membership, etc)
And centurion access (though without guests it's not near as valuable as it used to be)
It's funny-- CSR lost me as a customer doubling down on the coupon book route-- but this refresh might have converted me to Amex Plat being a keeper

Yup- it's the easiest way to use the credit for actual airfare (there's a few other tricks with other airlines that are more of a PITA/less reliable).
Oh other thing I realized--- if you're thinking of NOT renewing- but your AF doesn't post for a few more months at least--- you are better off signing up for monthly UberOne, not annual, right now.
Because that $120 U1 credit is per calendar year.
So sign up for monthly right now, let it credit you back $9.99/mo for the rest of this year.
Then next year you can do monthly for at least 2 months, then convert to an annual plan before Month 3 bills in 2026, and you end up with U1 through ~March 2027 for free.
Versus if you just did annual today and then got rid of the card in a few months, you'd only have through ~Sept 2026.

Sorry, one more question. So if I did annual uber one membership, the credit wont post until year end? (I don't have any plans to cancel this year.) Seems like there's no upside to annual membership if the monthly @ 9.99 is fully covered anyway.
Enrollment through American Express is required to receive the benefit. Only the Basic Card Member or Authorized Account Manager(s) on a U.S. Consumer Platinum Card® Account can enroll in the benefits section of their americanexpress.com account or by calling the number on the back of their Card. Enrolled Basic Card Members can receive up to $200 in statement credits each calendar year on eligible purchases charged to the Card Account. Eligible purchases include Oura Ring purchases made online at U.S. website ouraring.com. Not valid on purchases shipped to U.S. territories or outside the U.S. Excludes Oura membership purchases, other hardware purchases (e.g., chargers, add-ons), extended warranty purchases, Oura gift card purchases, and purchases made using third-party retailers, delivery services or other intermediaries. Purchases by both the enrolled Basic Card Member and Additional Card Members on the Card Account are eligible for statement credits. However, each enrolled Card Account is only eligible for up to $200 in statement credits per calendar year, per Card Account.
Was hoping to game this for the gift card but looks like they're smart enough to exclude it 😒

Centurion lounges are crowded and haven't found them to be all that great.
One of my platinum cards had the annual fee hit, I called them to cancel but they didn't give me a retention offer and explained all these new benefits. It's almost worth keeping now.

Credits typically post anywhere from a few days to a few weeks after the charge, so if you did annual today it'd credit you back the amount within a few days or weeks.
But yeah no reason to do annual vs monthly since the credit will fully cover either-- and doing monthly would let you potentially get several more months of U1 if you ever ditch the card that doing annual right now would not.
Typically you need to bill directly with the service covered by the credit so this probably won't work for you.
CSR is 3x for dining, not 4x.
So are multiple other chase cards, including free ones.
You DO get 4x for direct booked flights with CSR--- But Amex platinum gives you 5x for that.
So the only place CSR is "ahead' of anybody is they offer 4x for direct booked hotels (well, they're behind Citi who does 5x on the Prestige- but that's not open to new members anymore- very glad I still have mine)
Now, if you can get enough use of the Chase coupon book of credits it might still be worth it to you.... to me that's tougher to justify with the $795 fee than the old one, the changes made it worse in other words.
Vs here where the Amex changes make it easier to justify the fee.
my personal CSR math looks like:
$495 annual fee (net of the $300 credit)
Dining credit I value at $0 since I don't live in one of the very few cities it works (I might get lucky and visit one AND find eating at the tiny # of places there doable, but not likely enough to add alue)
Streaming credits- $0 to me, I get others might put a lot of value here though.
$120 dashpass membership- $0 (already have it from like 7 other things)
$120 in lyft credits- this I value pretty decently, like $95 since I can otherwise get 20% GCs
$120 in Peloton- worthless
$300 in doordash- $60 (the food credits I'll use, the $240 in "non restaurant" ones offer little value mostly eaten by fees and upcharging for things like groceries)
$500 "edit" credits- like the Amex FHR one tricky to use, usually on expensive hotels I wouldn't pay cash for- but again I can see some folks might find some value here.
$300 stubhub credits- I just checked my email, I've used stubhub like once in the last 5 years, I buy a fair # of tickets but apparently not from them. $0.
So that's $155 in value to me for a $495 annual fee. Nope.
If the $300 dining credit was as good as the new Amex one where it worked at dozens of local restaurants it'd be a nearer thing but still fall short.
But someone who lives in a city with the few restaurants the credit works at, and uses the streaming credits alot-- that guy might be able to make the card profitable.
YMMV
FWIW I was talking more about the hotels eligible at all tend to be expensive-- not that Amex upcharges for those hotels.
For example nothing anywhere localish to me (if for example I wanted to stay overnight downtown for a concert or show) is less than like $600-800 a night while "normal" chain hotels are $100-200.
Other places domestically I've looked tend to be similar where the choice is 'Stay in this nice $600 a night hotel and get $200 off the total bill" or "Stay in a perfectly fine $200 a night place for the list price"
I have managed to get ok value a few times-- but even then it tends to be "Making a nicer hotel only cost what the regular one I'd normally have staying in cost for 1-2 days"-- I don't really count that as saving $ since I'd never have stayed in the expensive place at full price anyway- typically if I'm staying at a really high end place on purpose it's using free-night certs or hotel points
Overseas might well be a better value, which seems to be your experience... but I rarely need a hotel overseas for only 1 or 2 nights (and after that the value drops off since the credit is on total stay, not per night).
There's airline-specific lounges that are nicer, but usually require international biz class tickets to get into (or an airline specific high-AF card, and only if booked on that specific airline for that trip).
Centurion lounges are crowded and haven't found them to be all that great.
