Adorama is an honest dealer. I bought from them for more than 20 years. If the item is not new, they will sell it as an open box, but with full orginal warranty. There is no "you may get" period. Don't tell people what you don't know for sure.

Depends how far up the Dirac tech chain you want to go. The RZ30 tops out at DLBC while the 3800 is expected to go all the way to ART before the year is up!

If Dirac is not a factor (or ok w/the included base Dirac license), then the RZ30 should meet your needs.

Great price if you don't have more than 2 SWs!

Does anyone know why Adorama has put this on sale several times but other retailers have not? Unless I just missed it, it seems odd.

This, or a Denon 3800? I have a Denon 2200, and Klipsch Speakers, I don't really need to upgrade, but having the new HDMI ports would be nice.

The 3800 has 11.2 processing, this has 9.2 (both allow external amp of 9.2, the 3800 let's you run 11.2 with 2 channels externally amped.) the 3800 is 105wpc this is 100 (at 8ohm, 2 channels driven), other than that and the mentioned room tuning options they're the same. All things equal I'd opt for 3800 if I needed to buy now and they were close in price but I'm also hoping to wait for deals next year+ on HDMI 2.2 units that have 11.2 processing for a little bit more future-proofing.

My ancient onkyo 818 has 140W per channel but I only use 5.1 and almost never listen at reference volume. This one only does 100W per channel. Would I notice any difference? I'm using 8ohm ascend acoustics with an svs sub
Thanks

Awesome deal...
Recent model and very good price, independent subs are very rare (expensive) option.

You may get a new product...you may get a return. Make sure you're comfortable with the return policy before buying!

Since you say you don't need to upgrade(from a 7.2), I assume you're content. If true both of these are kinda overkill. If you're after the upgrade for HDMI, this is less expensive, save the $300.

The only real differences are the pre outs & independent sub outs.If you don't need those, you save $100, that's always a good thing.

Do you need dual independent subs?
