Pancreatitis

I went to the ER today but did not post in the Lounge first as one should.

You can nerp me now.

Anyhow my original guess was appendicitis. Then I thought maybe it was a burst uterine fibroid. Nope, pancreatitis. 0 out of 10 don't recommend.

Strongly agree. Spent a week in the hospital with pancreatitis several years ago. No one should ever have to endure the sharp, stabbing pain.

So what do I do to get better ASAP? I'm starving on this clear liquids diet.

And even though they said it's a cute pancreatitis I dont think it's very cute.

Hope you are okay. Anything to do with the pancreas scares the hell out of me. But I know acute pancreatitis isn't that bad. It's not chronic so it's simply an acute case which should heal quite nicely and you will be fine. Yes, this is my totally uninformed and uneducated opinion but I feel it is accurate and absolute.

NPO treatment (no solid food, just amino acids and saline via IV) for several days is what it took to relieve mine. I lost over ten pounds that week. Had to eat super light a week or two following that.

I'm sorry to hear that. hug Weren't you the Lounger who also had Sphincter of Oddi issues, or am I thinking of someone else?

I haven't had anything to eat besides Gatorade and jello since Sunday morning. I'm starving. I thought I'd cheer myself up and I hopped on the scale. I have lost zero pounds. None. How can that even be possible?
