I've been on SD for at least 25 years now, and it never ceases to amaze me how a deal can amass a score of 40+ while most of the comments are derogatory of the product, and the product is not available to most people who post.

I was able to find the TV below for $550 on clearance at Wal Mart B&M. Not an QLED but has a nice picture and I really like the Roku OS which is hard to find on a TV this size.

It's that Reddit mentality: "I see a good title and whew, that looks like a great deal. UPVOTE!"

Great price but i bought the hiesense qd75n 85" for 650. Replaced 65" tcl roku s4. Huge improvement on display if colors and ability of items popping out in 4k content. Look at this as you nay be happier for 100 more.

2.6 black rating on rtings? Holy hell never seen a rating that low.
It's a 7.2 although the reviewed a smaller version which I think uses a different pannel and is 60hz. These are the new 2025 QD7QF with Fire TV. Actually pretty solid and overall rated 6.8 by RTINGS which I think is decent for this price point. I saw them in person (not this large) and I thought they looked good. You are probably thinking of they 2024 version that doesn't have mini led and local dimming for the deep blacks. It's not the best mini led but it is the only mini LED at this price point.

I don't believe this was well-reviewed on Rtings.com
This is the QD7QF which got a 6.8. You are probably thinking of the 2024 model. This is a big leap from that one with the addition of Mini LED lighting.

This is the QD7QF which is a new 2025 model with Fire TV. A lot of people are confusing this with the 2024 model that comes with google TV and was not well reviewed. This current model was reviewed 6.8/10 by RTINGS which might seem low but it's not bad at all for something that is considered a budget option.

Strengths (What it does well)
• For large size, the price / features balance is generous: you're getting a huge 85″ screen with QLED color, HDR, and gaming features for far less than flagship models.
• In brighter rooms or daytime viewing, it performs decently because the overall screen brightness is good enough to compete with ambient light (though not perfect).
• The smart features (Google TV, app support, HDR formats) and connectivity (HDMI 2.1, VRR) make it future-proof for consoles and streaming.
• Viewing angle is relatively forgiving compared to many LED TVs, so off-center seating is less of a penalty.

👎 Weaknesses & Trade-offs (Where it disappoints)
• Poor black levels / contrast: Because there is no local dimming, dark scenes look washed out and blacks are more gray than deep black. This is one of the biggest compromises.
• Limited HDR impact: Bright highlights (e.g. explosions, sunbeams) won't "pop" as much because the panel can't sustain very high brightness.
• Reflection / glare issues in dark scenes: In dark rooms or with lights behind the viewer, reflections become more noticeable.
• Uniformity inconsistencies: Some edge-dimming, dirty screen effect, non-perfect brightness uniformity have been observed.
• Motion in fast scenes: Pixel response is not perfect; in very fast motion (sports, action) you can see blur / "smearing."
• It's not a premium display: Compared to OLEDs, higher end mini-LEDs, or TVs with many local dimming zones, image fidelity (especially in dark scenes) lags behind.
This is not a google TV it's the 2025 Fire TV version. A huge upgrade and this is an insane price for this size. If you're someone looking for a big TV over the best TV I would jump on this. You simply won't beat this level of quality at this size for $500.
