"Shipped by" Amazon should theoretically remove any risk of tariffs, but I did notice that it says "FREE delivery for Prime members", not actual Prime shipping. Does anyone know if it's possible this would still be shipped from outside the US?

Edit: if you click on "Other sellers on Amazon", there are two five-star sellers with actual Prime shipping at the same price.

yeah I think the Fly More RC2 is shipped from China until they get stock in the Amazon warehouses. The Fly More Plus RC2 is 2 Day shipping from Amazon already but people are more wary of that combo due to Remote ID.

I've seen those sellers on many other Amazon DJI Drone listing as well, although many were taken down today when this Mini 5 listing went up--not sure if it is related to the AWS outage earlier. I think this is just DJI's way of getting their products in our hands.

Isn't this new model over 250g? What's the point? May as well go for the next higher air model.

Yeah so as I understand, 250g is a meme. Laws are only as good as they are enforced. Nobody is going to pull you over and measure your drone.
So, the way it's enforced is through Remote ID which is governed by the battery. If you put in the plus battery it will start broadcasting and reporting that your drone is over 250g. If you use the regular non-plus battery, it won't broadcast.
And also, as I understand, all the regulatory bodies recognize the Mini 5 as compliant and under 250g, despite what is shown on the scale.

I know I'm beating a dead horse here but I presume no one still has any thought as to whether DJI will be banned from the US permanently and if so, whether that will ground all devices already sold? I know it's already impossible to get US support now so buying something that could be paper weight is concerning to me.

Honestly, nobody knows. You just have to decide for yourself if the cost is worth the risk. For the lower end drones like the Mini 4K, I would say absolutely worth it. My personal opinion is that if they did roll out a ban, they won't ban them from taking off, only from being sold in the future.

Well just think about it logically, you put an ND filter on your Mini 4 pro or custom propellor or vinyl sticker or anything, really, and your Mini 4 Pro is over 250g. Would you have ever given weight a second thought? And if there was an incident, you would just say it is advertised as below 250g and you have complied with all laws in good faith, despite, technically you drone was actually over 250g due to the ND filter or any of the other things I mentioned.

So, if it is stated to be 249g, if the battery itself is labeled "249g ultralight", then Mini 4 pro is 249g. All other fud is a meme. Same logic applies to the Mini 5.

So for those that do not know, this drone is not authorized to fly in the US and is currently banned by the FAA. When and if it becomes authorized to operate in the US, you will need to pass the Part 107 certification as this drone does not comply with the under 250g weight requirementa for TRUST. You can get in tons of very serious trouble for flying this drone in the US. It is honestly not worth the risk. Everyone is overconfident until they are caught. You are definitely better off purchasing and flying any of the other drones that you can purchase and fly with no issues. The Mini 4 Pro is a wonderful alternative.

No. Honestly the mini 4 pro is now the most sought after sub 250g drone. Somebody might end up offering over what you paid for it eventually depending on how regulation shakes out.

Good luck taking that risk. The repercussions are NOT insignificant if you are caught making a mistake of any kind with over a 250g drone without proper licencing.
