Read the one star reviews. Many recent reports of the fan prematurely failing: seizing up and smelling like burning electronics. Fans should have a fuse so they don't pose a hazard, so reports of a burning smell are really concerning.

The overall review average is high but they changed the model a few years ago so only the newest reviews apply.

This seems to be going down in price just about every day, and I bought yesterday. 😖

The larger model is fantastic.. recommend waiting for a sale price under $24. It's been running non stop for 18 months ✌️😀

Cheap fans seizing up are common. I have 4 of those $10-$15 cheap honeywell ones and they seize up after about a year. Spraying some silicone spray in there frees them right up, good as new, perhaps even faster. However if its smoking electronics thats a no go.

I use a bunch of the Honeywells 24x7 in a greenhouse and can testify that when they eventually seize they often sit there humming and getting hot. They will sometimes let out a little smoke if you don't notice for a few days.
These Amazons look like an exact copy of one version of the honeywell if not from the same factory. (or some of my "Honeywells" are counterfeits which is not unlikely since I sometimes get them from Amazon)
