This Ryobi ONE plus starter kit stands out for the free tool angle and the flexibility to hack the deal by choosing pickup locations. The compact 2.0 amp hour battery is still useful for lighter tasks, and the included charger may be better than similar offers. The strongest free-tool picks include brushless or pricier tools like the fan, angle grinder, and clamp speaker. The main drawbacks are the reduced battery value versus older bundles, slow charging, and checkout glitches where the free tool does not always price to zero.
Homeowners doing light repairs who want a compact 2.0Ah battery, because it is handy for smaller tasks and stays easy to carry.
Yes. Keep lithium-ion batteries around the middle of their charge range when possible, avoid leaving them on the charger for days or weeks, and avoid letting them sit dead for long periods. Storing them indoors also helps reduce wear.
No, the free tool may not appear as $0 until both items are added to the cart, and even then the discount can fail to apply in checkout. The deal is effectively a hackable bundle, so you may need to use the cart flow carefully or try a different pickup setup.
No, the included batteries are standard ONE+ batteries, not HP batteries. The HP packs are the higher-performance option, and a separate $140 bundle with 4Ah and 6Ah HP batteries is available if you want larger-capacity batteries.
The charger is described as very low output, around 0.5 to 1 mAh, so charging a 6Ah battery can take roughly 6 to 12 hours. A different $99 bundle is said to have a better charger.
Are these batteries made to die with short life?I bought one 2-3 years ago. Barely used it, and one of them is dead already. Will not charge at all. Really surprised.
Keep them inside. My dad goes through batteries i think because he leaves them in his shop without any insulation.

You can jump start it with another battery and some wire (plenty of utube videos) but the fire gestapos on here will scream at me for saying it.

There's a similar deal at HD but for $139 you get a 6.0 & a 4.0 plus charger and free tool. Can hack it for like $89 for the battery pack/charger, prob less with other tools
i've never seen this "national" offer work in Hawaii. ever. probably alaska either. just saying.
He probably should have said contiguous US. That almost goes without saying, though. Living water locked or foreign land locked, is going to increase prices

What is the best tool value? Need new batteries anyway lol
I'm thinking of getting the speakers. None of the other bluetooth speakers I have can be linked, and I have job sites that would benefit from a speaker at each end.
Glad to see a "hackable" deal again instead of the "included tool" on more of the recent $99 deals. Did the normal two different pickup locations, picked a tool I actually needed to replace a failing one from a different manufacturer. Then I cancelled the batteries at the other location on the app. So I got the angle grinder that I wanted, cheaper than a refurbished, on sale one at Direct Tools. I'm happy (don't care about it not being brushless, haven't killed and of my non- brushless tools yet)

BS it doesn't work I tried so many different methods and nothing works to revive these packsThey have a lock out chip in the BMS that tell it to brick the pack at the drop of a hat.I replaced 2bad cells froma bad pack, charged each 18650 individually and made sure all cells were perfectly balanced And it still doesn't work 4.19 v on all cells and it won't work or charge. They deliberately make these BMS boards brick the pack do you have to go out and buy a new one. They probably have some real time clock inside that does it randomly right after the 3year warranty runs out too.It a total scamI think they sell replacement BMS boards on AliExpress that don't have the same lockout the original boards have or that you can actually reset it.Some packs have a reset jumper on the BMS but most of them don't and the lens that do still don't work or they work one time and not again. The cells are still perfectly fineI have experimented with tons of these packs and reused the 18650 cells with no problems for other applications such as my davinci dry herb vaporiser. And electronics projects over a year later and these cells are still working fine. The BMS systems in these packs are a total scam
