Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

Thanks - I think you're right - I checked again today and the transaction now says completed and no longer has the note about authorization in progress. The points are still pending but now show 25,000 points amount. So I think I am probably fine.
Appliances go from HD to one of a few places - a local store, a central warehouse, or even a 3rd party (sometimes the manufacturer itself). Once that second level accepts the order, you get charged. So you're good, your order has been accepted at this point so paypal no longer sees pending charge.

Pay monthly has a 6-month option (and is part of this offer) but it is a completely different product from PayPal credit.

You specifically said PayPal credit, which is a different product and doesn't qualify for this offer. I can't tell if you misunderstood and wrote PayPal credit accidentally or if that's what you actually used.

If you legit used PayPal credit then you won't qualify for this offer.

If you used pay monthly (and you just mistakenly called it PayPal credit), and the transaction went through, then you should.

For pay later, which includes pay monthly and pay in 4, you don't apply for it ahead of time. The application happens at the point of sale. Unlike PayPal credit which you actually do apply for ahead of time.

Make sense?

When I went to ebay, there's an area that says pay by 6 months. After you click that it takes you to submit some info (name, social, income). After that I was approved for $3k credit it said. Unless it's something else, that is what ebay redirected to me too from Paypal.

I did this all from redirecting by ebay, I wouldn't apply seperately for credit (at least not aware this was for credit).

Also, when you go to ebay the button when you click "No interest if paid in full in 6 months" says - Pay with Paypal CREDIT.

But I do see the difference.

After I entered everything and clicked review order while on PayPal Pay in 4 checkout for Dell Refurbished, I was promptly transported to the Dell landing page saying I have no item in cart. The item was only 1 in stock. Does that mean someone ordered before me and the order didn't go through? Received no order confirmation as I ordered as guest on the Dell page and it didn't ask for an email. Credit card says 'pending' for the first part of the payment.

So confusing. So I made 2 transactions before the terms changed, I spent $250. Does that mean now I can still spend $1000 but I'm limited to only 1 transaction?
As long as the offer still shows unused in your account (has the "shop now" or "activated" button on it and doesn't show "congratulations", it should work and show pending points. No guarantee the points will go payable though, it is too soon for that to be confirmed, so up to you whether you want to try it.

Is there any penalty or (possibility of losing points) here for paying off total remaining Pay4 balance? I don't see why there would be..

This is NOT true. 1 transaction after the terms changed. Have tried and verified it myself.

Total of transactions from before the terms changed and the 1 after they changed cannot exceed $1250
I'll provide an update if I receive the points from all 3 of my transactions. The offer is even still available under my Rewards.

Yep, that's the wrong one. For this deal many of reported that you need to remove your Paypal account from eBay completely (I had to...). Then during checkout you select PayPal and enter your credentials. Then you were given an option for pay in 4 or pay monthly if you qualify.

eBay itself does not advertise pay later.. but apparently it does advertise PayPal credit.

Also, IIRC, PayPal credit is a hard pull (by synchrony Bank), while pay later is just a soft pull. You should check and see if you got a hard pull in your credit.

Yeah I got a hard pull thinking paypal credit counts as Pay Later. I mean it is pay later XD. Fark. I later realized the pay monthly is only for non business account too. Dang it freakin A.

Got the offer and saved the offer. Tried to use in a Best buy purchase. PayPal denied the payment. Called customer service, system blocked because of unusual activity on my account and no way to override that, in fact I used PayPal to purchase from eBay in early November. Unable to talks to any supervisor. Told me to wait for 24 hours(Stone Age technology). Still the same issue exists, after 24 hours. Now wondering how AI and other systems are implemented in PayPal to identify unusual activity without any manual override to fix that. This shows how systems are developed, implemented without any impact assessment. With this kind of treatment to customers, how these companies will flourish. Reported this in social media... But the deal is already over. Common sense also missing here. PayPal made an offer to customer, and he /she saved the offer(by logging into the account), when customer trying to make use of that offer, PayPal denied payment saying unusual activity. Whoever designed the system in such a way should be fired and customers should be compensated with rain check and PayPal should credit the difference of the item price(BF price vs current) to customers.

How can we confirm after we've applied and got approved for the offer, whether we got the offer? There's no mention of 20% back when you apply?

Is it cash back or some kind of points that you have to redeem for junk?

Have you spent more than $1,250? If so it's totally pointless.

If not, it *might* work. There is no concrete data on whether or not you will get more points but some people are showing pending points from one final purchase made after the terms changed.
