I have that problem these days. Was not able to place an order online and pick up from store. I had to go to store and purchase it and paid with my account balance. I think it's because the store has low stock and they don't want you to hold it while they cannot sell them to walk-in customer. I might be wrong on this.

In my case, the code were not rubbed off. The PHB number wasn't matching with the code based on apple customer service as they checked on their system.

How to bypass their check for online purchase? Look like even with different circle account, same cc and address, target flag mine and cancel all subsequent transactions

I hit a limit of 10 in store in addition to online limit of 3. Circle membership is required for the promo and need to be separate transaction as the $15 Target GC is limited to 1 per transaction.

All Apple has to do is tie the gift card code to the activation code as the activation has to be scanned to purchase.

Worked three times for online ordering. Got 45$ target GC total. Not sure if it works the 4th time, didn't want to take any more chances.

Nothing will happen if you tried a 4th. Target cancels it pretty much instantaneously.

I actually got the cancelation e-mail a minute before the order confirmation e-mail. That's how fast they are... Smilie

Do you have first hand experience with this in store? A commenter in another thread said that it doesn't work in store. They needed to use the gift cards individually for their Apple store purchase.

I was able to get 14 in store before it errored out on the target side stating a limit was hit. Any idea how to bypass or how long it takes to restart the counter?
