Deal HistoryΒ
Deal History includes data from multiple reputable stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The lowest price among stores for a given day is selected as the "Sale Price".
Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
Company isn't the easiest to deal with if you need to warranty anything. They will eventually replace your item but it will take weeks and come from China.
SD price graph shows a constant $160 price, but camelcamelcamel shows the price has occasionally hit the listed $250 original price. Not as big a sale as you might think, but certainly better than the completely fake sale the SD price graph implies.
Just because they both are based on flash memory does not make them equal. SSDs generate much more heat and will fail prematurely if left in a hot car all the time. lol

If I have an A129 plus already installed in my truck, can I just replace the front and rear cameras and keep the existing cable? Or would I need to rerun the cable and terminate at the fuse box? I'm assuming I'd at least need an adapter for where the cable plugs into the cameras
viofo went form using USB-mini, to USB-C, so you will need to check which you have, and which the new model will have. the listings don't really talk much about the USB cable type (which is annoying), but there is a possibility you can NOT reuse the cable.
Verify the cable type before buying.
i paid the same price in July for the Mini 2 during prime days.
It works, i think the quality is good, but its got a bunch of bugs. It randomly takes pictures and it randomly locks the videos. Happens about once a week since i bought it. I have to log into it and delete by hand.

so for those who don't have a cigarette plug, would I need to buy a cigarette plug to USB-C connector?
If you're buying a brand new camera then it most likely comes with a long cable + cigarette plug (check the listing or pics to see what it comes with)
Otherwise you can:
- buy your own cigarette plug
- buy a fuse box hardwire kit
- buy an OBD2 port wiring adapter
- if your car has USB ports then plug it into that
If you have a newer car with safety camera on windshield or auto dimming rear view mirror then they make USB power adapters that can use power from there so you don't have to run a wire -- search Dongar power adapter to see if they make it for your car otherwise there might be generic ones on Amazon
FitDVR is another brand which is the one I went with recently for my car and also my sister's car -- it has 2 power outputs (one USB and one barrel connector) so you can hook up 2 devices if you want (I'm doing a Viofo cam to USB port and a Thinkware cam to barrel connector)
Did some reading up on this and it seems like a bit of a deal-breaker. When it does this, it locks the clip so you have to go in and manually delete it. Lot of reviews of people with the sensitivity set to low as possible and can't get it to stop saving clips triggered by things as small as their windshield wipers swiping.
It's not a big deal. Every six months you delete the locked videos.

What you said but worst case scenario you can buy an adapter to go from mini USB to USB C and vice versa or whatever you need.
The mods keep pushing this, but $160 for the basic 2 channel dash cam that doesnt include an SD card, so add $50 (they require a high endurance expensive one) or parking mode kit (another $20). So, $230+ tax.
I believe it is not worth it. They are riding on their name recognition and pushing these at an inflated price

never happened to me when using windshield wipers, maybe bad roads but its very rare.
