I was able to get a Red Pocket e-SIM number for $7.78 and successfully ported it in to Metro. Plus Metro total of $165.24. All in with eSIM port-in and Metro is $173.02. Now we wait for it to unlock lol

Phone unlocking in one year is a deal-breaker.

If I already have an active account with metro what's stopping me from buying this phone for $99 and using it with my current sim? Is that doable or is there something that blocks me from doing that?

kind of weird question, but i ported in my number and used that same number as my login id

if i dont pay anymore, i will lose access to that number in a month. presumably i will also lose access to my account and wont be able to log in anymore after that

is that normal? will it affect the 1-year unlock
I have this same question. I was planning to just not pay the next month bill and hope it unlocks in a year. Then I'd get a new number and if it doesn't unlock just do a byop with metro at the cheaper rate. If it does unlock, I'll go with cheaper service elsewhere. Are we on the hook for anything if we don't have a payment method and don't autopay or pay the next month? If there any other MFA option than a text to your phone?

you can do that. put an old phone ein in it's place, then that frees up the ein of your new phone to be swapped on to the line. I could be wrong though.

your unlock isn't # dependent. You will lose access to the account I believe. THey'll probably recycle the number

I ordered one watch already,
i'm trying to figure what I should order for the next new line, this phone, the tablet, or another watch if it will let me.

edit: I see if I want another watch they want to charge 99 bux.

Looks like I port in a number from an active Tracfone I don't use, but if I get this deal do I have to wait 12 months to unlock the phone?

You just need to only pay for the first month let it sit for 12 month and phone unlocks. I have done 2 phones before. Not sure if they change the rules recently though

Usually $25, but they have/had a $5 off promo. The $20 off with referal does not work any longer.
In my case i have my main phone on visible so yes i cant save 20$ on that line like before, but i still do get 20$off for my next month payment for a referal which makes this number free.

Thanks for your sharing. I managed to transfer to Metro by using number from another carrier. I think my issue come from Red Pocket, I won't use their service again.
Same goes to US Mobile. After experince with porting out - never again.

what will be the penalty if I cancel the plan after 1 month service, or simply turn off the autopay?

I used Red Pocket number to port in, but at the final step of transfering after waiting about 5 minutes Metro said my number cannot be transfer at that time. I still got a text message from Red Pocket alarm about a request for transfer.
Can you clarify what you mean when you said "at the final step of transfering after waiting about 5 minutes Metro said my number cannot be transfer"?
Is this before placing the actual order? Or after you have received the device and going through the activation process?
Thanks!

The transfer process happens after you check out, when you enter your credit card number and click "Pay". But this is just a pre-transfer. Your number will actually be transferred to Metro after you receive the phone and activate service.
