Skip the 18" chainsaw. It has too many problems in the long run.

What problems are you talking about? Auto tensioner design?
There are UTube videos with solutions.

Interesting that this was a Frontpage deal three days ago for $11 more, and today this deal is getting pretty much ignored. Confused

Possibly the folks who bought this three days ago might check into a price match or return/rebuy if $11 is meaningful for them (it is to me).

The one that's $10 more has a 5ah battery and this one has a 4ah battery. The 5ah battery one floats in and out of stock.

Be sure to check the box before leaving the store. I just picked up a 20" on the deal that was only on Thanksgiving Day ($150 off). The one they got for me for pickup looked unsealed. I checked it and it was used. Fortunately, they had one more in stock.

I took down a HUGE water oak tree with this.. it took me a very long time and about 12 chains (literally and that was with sharpening them) this thing never missed a beat.
I had four 5ah batteries and one 7.5ah..
I have owned multiple Poulans (i know they are junk) and a few refuribished huskys from ebay. ALL of those gave me trouble.. I suppose a one time investment of Stihl "may" have served me well (?).. but I will now be an ego chainsaw fan for life. was not a fan of their lawn mower.. it could not hold up to my thick grass.

I have the 5ah battery version of this deal and the 18" chainsaw worked great to slice up a fallen tree for fire wood. The auto tensioner is nice and makes it quick to take apart for cleaning and the put back together.

I have the 5AH battery and I got 25 cuts through 10" hardwood. I probably processed a dozen trees over 3 years with it before the battery started giving me trouble. The battery no longer works at all. Otherwise it is a great saw. Just know that as the trees get larger the number of cuts goes down exponentially. I got 5 cuts through a 16 inch Ash before it died. Great for smaller stuff, but I live in the middle of a hardwood Forrest and ended up with a 450 Rancher instead.

I'll stick with my 25yr old Sears Craftsman 18" chainsaw.

Cut stuff down all the time with it, remote also using a little honda 2200i gen
