One technical consideration for this card: It only supports 8x PCIE 5.0 bandwidth. That's fine if you have a modern motherboard, but if you have an older PCIE 3.0 system (like me), then is it going to be limited by that connection. It's not the end of the world, but it's not ideal.

edit I looked into this issue a bit more, and it seems to be more of a problem with the 8GB cards, where data is loaded into and out of memory a lot. The impact seems minimal on 16GB cards.

Just got one seemed a bit fishy. I've gotten many cards and this one came shrink wrapped. Don't know if that's a MSI, Walmart, or third party seller thing. Haven't opened it yet, but seems odd. Other MSI stuff I've gotten wasn't shrink wrapped.

Mine arrived shrink-wrapped as well. My guess is new security measure by MSI or Walmart.

And my PayPal Pay in 4 pending points transferred today (thought it would take longer), so the card indeed ending up costing 296 + tax.

That's good to know, thank you. I was like crap did I get a good old brick in a box. should I just return it unopened. It's good to know others got it shrink wrapped as well.
