It's worth noting this isn't the same as typical fiber internet - it's "fiber-powered". Namely, from their own details,
Xfinity Internet is powered by fiber and connected to premises by coaxial cable
One drawback to this is upload and download speeds are not symmetric - the headline advertised speed is the download speed, but upload speeds are typically significantly lower. For example, looking at the Broadband Facts of the 1 Gig plan in my area, they specify typical download speed at 1170 mbps and typical upload speed at 117 mbps. In the past in different areas, I've seen advertised typical upload speeds as low as 20-40 mbps.

That may be perfectly fine for many people, in which case this is a good deal. But make sure to take a look at the upload speed for your area and confirm that it's fast enough for your needs.

Yes don't log in initially, then look up your address, then choose I'm moving here as a new subscriber. Then contie towards the end and on the screen where it has you sign up for an account, choose login instead. But make sure you cancel your old account, and return equipment. Otherwise you'll be billed for two accounts concurrent.

I'm a current customer and my plan has that bank autopay discount too. But I can still manually pay with a credit card every month, with no surcharge, and the discount remains.

Just got the plan as an existing customer... Pretended to be new customer (didn't sign in) and easily saw the 1Gb/$50 plan... Added it... Clicked through the steps, then when asked to create an account, it also had "Existing Customer Sign In", which i did.... Had error validating my account and used the Chat Agent feature.... Lady quickly signed me up, and already knew about the $50 gift card.... Sent the service change order to my phone for approval, and it was done.... Im getting a new modem in the mail and apparently my "old" account will be merged with my "new" account in 7 days once my modem arrives. I guess i'll verify everything then... We'll see, but everything looks good from here! Thanks OP!!

I had just signed up for $65 a couple days ago and also had this offer for $50 so switched to it.

And dammit I forgot about the MC50 code but oh well. Still much better price than what I've been paying.
I'm in a similar boat as I cancelled more expensive gig plan in my name and we signed up under my wife's name for the $65 per month gig plan going on two months ago. If I knew they were going to offer this deal I would've waited, lol.

So how were you able to switch from the $65 to the $50 plan? Did you open a new account under a different (spouse's) name? Or were you able to switch it in your name entirely and if so how?
