Would be cool if they did a release of the 48fps version that was shown in theaters back when it released. I heard it was controversial but I didn't hear about it until a few years after it released, and apparently all the home media releases have been 24fps cuts

That release in theaters was a great 3D experience too

Yeah it was such a limited release. Would have loved to have seen it. I don't think they've released another movie in 48 fps have they?

I'm surprised a movie hasn't taken advantage of 60 fps. I know it wouldn't have that movie feel but seems like it might work for certain movies. Maybe like a found footage horror movie.

The 3D was excellent at first, but like most films you become numb to it after a while. Some like The 300 are great all the way through, most just become tiresome. The frame rate was terrible. It was oddly clear it almost made it look like animation but not in a good way. Thinking about it, it is very much like most TV's today. Over sharpened over vibrant, so you see things in ways your eyes don't see them in real life. It just makes everything look unnatural.

An ADHD rollercoaster of a movie. I prefer the 70s animated version myself, though it came out way before I did. The characters in that one are so much more developed, realistic and relatable, that it makes you wonder who wrote this one.

You joke but that's actually how I watch these. There's some fan edits, the most popular being the Tolkien Edit. Turns the whole trilogy into a 4 hour movie. Makes way more sense for 300 pages of source material.

I saw The Hobbit in all 3 offered formats: regular 24fps 2D, 48fps 2D, and 48fps 3D. I thought the 48fps looked like a low budget made for TV BBC production at times. Some of the battle sequences looked good, but overall I preferred the plain ol' 24 fps version, which looked like an actual movie.
