Love deals like this. $100+ bread machine pays for itself pretty quickly when you make bread at home. This will be enough for for approximately 5 large loaves of bread 🍞

This deal is okay but fully expect Amazon to ship this without a bag with a delicate electronic or something important have it spilled ALL OVER the inside of your package. Amazon has been horrendous lately with beating the crap out of packages and we've stopped ordering any kind of flour from them due to how many packages they've destroyed.

I'm going to roll the dice on this; its a great price for bread flour and I'm going to be doing a bunch of baking over christmas.

Like all flour though, it spends 3 days in the deep freezer as soon as it gets home.

I was curious about the same thing. According to "Eat This Much" it is 12%:

Similar to Gold Medal, less than King Arthur (12.7%), or relative to Bob's Red Mill (12-13%).

I've used the Amazon Bread flour to make bread and multiple batches of bagels and it performed well. It's hard to beat at this price.

Anyone know how this compare to King Arthur quality and taste wise?

King Arthur's bread flour is trash now. It no longer develops gluten the way it used to. I thought it was just me until other people on Reddit pointed it out. I wish they would come out and admit that they changed something.

King Arthur has different lines. Some of which are commonly used at bakeries and pizzerias. If they changed their formulation on those lines there would be a big problem. On the home-market lines maybe not so much. Which line do you think has changed?

Wait, why should I be putting my flour in the freezer?

According to Deal History, this is the highest price point in the last 90 days. Why is this a frontpage deal?

Benefits of freezing flour
Kills weevil eggs: Freezing for 2-7 days kills microscopic insect eggs that may be in the flour, preventing them from hatching later.
Extends shelf life: Freezing prevents the natural oils in flour from becoming rancid, significantly extending its shelf life.
Prevents moisture absorption: In humid climates, freezing helps keep flour dry and prevents it from absorbing moisture from the air.

How to freeze and store flour
Initial freeze: Immediately after buying flour, place the bag in the freezer for at least 48 hours to kill any eggs.
Transfer to an airtight container: After the initial freeze, transfer the flour from the original bag to a truly airtight container, such as a sealed plastic container or glass jar. The original paper bags are not airtight and can allow pests to get in.
Long-term storage: For long-term storage, you can keep flour in the freezer indefinitely in an airtight container. You can also store it in a cool, dark pantry for shorter periods (up to about 6-8 months for all-purpose flour).
Whole grain flours: Whole grain and oily flours should always be stored in the freezer or refrigerator to prevent the fats from going rancid.

Price is good, but shipping takes a long time (3 weeks + ) again.
