1 tablespoon allulose or maple syrup
2 teaspoons active dry yeast
1¼ cups warm water (about 110°F/45°C)
2 tablespoons olive oil (optional, for softer bread)
Instructions:
Activate the yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast over the water and stir gently. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
Mix dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the unbleached bread flour and salt.
Combine wet and dry: Pour the activated yeast mixture into the dry ingredients. Add olive oil if using. Mix until a dough forms.
Knead the dough: Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
