- Phone sales tax- due at sign up.
- Monthly Taxes. Like someone mentioned can be as high as $9/line per month
- Activation fees. Apparently $40 per line, but maybe you can get waived?
- Verizon has historically said allow 1-2 billing cycles for discounts to appear. Well, if they don't appear be prepared to spend multiple calls and hours to try and get them to honor their agreement.
- This service plan is the lowest unlimited so don't get the ultra wideband (faster 5g) or hot spot.
- to take full advantage of the discount you have to keep the lines for 3 years. That's a long time to be locked in. Theoretical scenario: if you pulled all 4 lines out after 2 years would owe around $1500 for the phone pay offs.
While a good price, I think they are trying to get you to sign up, and then bc you'll be frustrated with the lower plan will upgrade at a significant cost ($40/line instead of $25).
This reddit post [reddit.com] explains data prioritization for the 3 major carriers and the MVNOs on them.
Fed Universal Service Charge: $0.41
Regulatory Charge: $0.21
Admin & Telco Recovery Charge: $3.78
CA State 911 Surcharge: $0.41
CA State 988 Surcharge: $0.08
CA Universal Service PPP Fee: $0.90
Emerg Comm Acc Tax: $3.22
City UUT: $0.28
Total charges per line = $9.29
It's still a really good deal if you're in the market for new iPhones

In the end I just ended up porting 5x lines from Tmobile, 1x BYOD free ($30 additional monthly discount) and 4x Welcome plan. Which ends up being $150-$45-$30=$75 monthly + tax. Not too bad of a deal being that I got 4x new 17 pros and my Tmobile Magenta I was paying 185 for 5x lines (have 2 additional free lines but i havent found a use for them). Will probably try to call in VZ to see if a rep can replicate these discounts. The store rep did warn that shifting the discounts around might cause you to lose them and will be a pain the get it back
$20/month National Discount
$20/month "Better" discount
$45/month discount
1. online
100 cb site + try 300gc for each line by placing 4 different orders
cost will be 100 $/month for four lines
once received, try port in deal to get additional 20$ per line for one year.
[given everything works out]
= total 1040 for 36months for four lines
2. In-store/phone (with bill upload to AI)
35$ for four lines
[Certain as offers are applied during the order]
= total 1260 for 36 months for four lines
I'm somehow inclined for 1 over 2 as it allows for me to move after one year (and still get lot of benefits within 1 year) and with cb almost certain and at the least one gc guaranteed, might get 20$ per line port offer even sometime later if not now.
Any thoughts? Am i missing something?
It'd be helpful if anyone can confirm if they were able to successfully redeem multiple 300gift cards?

Here's what the rep explained:
Unlimited Welcome for 4 lines: $160
National offer discount: brings it down to $140
Autopay discount: brings it to $100
Taxes and fees: about $30
Nurse discount: –$20
Also, they will pay off my current T-Mobile phone. It'll come in giftcard + $300 giftcard.
You'll have to pay taxes for phones today.
So my monthly total comes out to about $110/month with everything included and brand-new phones.
1) I havent done the port request or created account yet
2) Havent received phones either but seems like all 4 have shipped now.
3) Do I go ahead and try to create an account now before I receive the phones then do port request through the account once I receive?
Also, did you guys do the 'better' and 'closer' discounts? wondering if it will all stack?

@jjays - can you confirm the below numbers please? This seems almost too good to be true and I want to be clear when I go in-store and talk to them. From what I understand,
$130 for 5 lines (this already includes 20 national) 4 new phones and no trade-in
-20 better deal (got with AI scan)
-45 promotional credit (is this applied by store rep or is this result of AI scan as well?)
-30 BYOD for one line (do you know how many lines we can get with BYOD discount?)
