This is the lowest price I've seen for this switch. I have a couple of these in use and it's a good product. This switch supports some limitied management functions including VLANs, great if you have a separate IoT VLAN and want to have some ports dedicated to IoT devices and other ports dedicated to your isolated home network, all on one switch.

This is a great price for a web-managed switch. I don't think I have ever seen one this cheap.

That being said, do be aware that, historically, Netgear hasn't provided updates to their entry-level consumer switches for very long so you end up with an out-of-date and potentially insecure device on your network.

I have had 2 of these go bad on me - payed netgear shipping to RMA them.

Their customer service is terrible to deal with. Both times, it was software issue - firmware corruption- agree with above comment that there is never any updates for this switch.

Got the PoE version of this (GS308EP) a couple years back - still going strong and runs my POE IP cameras continuously.

My last employeer was cheap, so we used a lot of 5-port switches and when one went bad (being cheap) we did not have a replacement and Amazon was 5+ days shipping. I found a power supply with the same volts and more amps, cut the cables tested polarity and had a good working switch. We repaired 3 more in my time there with this method. (The power came from retired equipment). My point is it may not be the switch that went bad on you.
