I have these and only use them to cut the impossible to open plastic blister packaging. Safer than a box cutter and they work pretty well for that.

I've seen alot of feedback that these bridge the gap poorly between tin snips and plain scissors; too bulky for light duty work (paper and cardboard etc) and too small for metal cutting.

I have two. Use one to clean up fish, cutting fins and tails. Also use to open turkey and duck. very handy.

This is an essential tool in any toolbox. Very sturdy and well built (with the exception of the lock, which is pretty hard on fingers). I use this all the time to cut zip ties, twines, chicken wire fencing, hardware cloth, etc. Great price!

I use it for the same purposes of cutting zip ties and plastic blister packs that are otherwise a pain to open with regular scissors.

I'm in for 2. I have a pair of Fiskars that are similar that I use a lot and they are very useful. Might be an overkill to some but snipping zip ties or small romex or chicken wire is nothing. Anything that office type scissors struggle with are no problem with scissors like these. Aluminum hvac tape, tough plastic packaging, flexible magnets, sign wire. Thing I cut he most is cardboard and it's like cutting a sheet of paper. Save your utility knife blades and use these. Full tang means the handles are not just plastic and not as likely to break on tougher material

I think I expected these to be more like straight tin snips, and they are nothing close. I've had a pair for a couple years probably, and you're not going to cut anything much tougher than thick plastic. Any metal thicker than chicken wire is out of the question, and even that might be a bit of a struggle. Now for cutting vegetation, plastic packaging, maybe rope or burlap...absolutely.

Certainly won't replace your tin snips, but for getting annoying plastic packaging open and light duty jobs, it's fine. Not the most ergonomic design, but it does the job. For this price, it's worth grabbing one or two.

These are actually pretty decent for cutting through zip ties and blister packs, as others have found. I've also managed to use the lifetime warranty without hassle -- took it back to the store and they let me swap it for a new one -- though I've only had one of these fail on me so far.

I got excited and got 2. When I tried to cut a 22 gauge steel wire, it chipped off a 3mm piece right from the center of the sharp edge. Maybe the wire was hardened more that the HRC rating of these scissors, don't know. It has lifetime warranty though, I think.
