Raw performance wise this is about the same as a 9070 but unless you need 20GB of VRAM, the 9070 is the better buy around the same price for the newer architecture, better ray tracing, and better upscaling performance.

Not sure that you got your facts straight since what I believe you're referencing is a Microsoft problem pertaining to Windows: https://www.tomshardware.com/soft...r-crashing

For just gaming I would go with the 9070 because of Redstone compatibility, but if you also use it for AI workloads like LLMs or Comfy UI then this would be slightly better because of the increased VRAM.

No reason to get this over the PowerColor 9070 XT, unless your doing something specific and need the additional VRAM. if you cant specifically state what you'd use it for, you don't need it. unless the extra $40 breaks the bank. and in gaming, by the time you actually NEED the additional vram in games the card will be running games at like 30 fps and you'll upgrade anyway.

Great gpu, comes within 10% of a 7900XTX , I have the powercolor version of this paired with a 7600x3d . If you're using it mainly for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, its a far better choice for the 20 GB VRAM all of which you will use in 4k res high to ultra settings, so better buy than a 9070.

Haha me as well! Good to know there are others with this madness too Big Grin

Still have my 3x crossfire Radeon HD 6950 (waiting to get a 4th on ebay to make it 4 way crossfire) and 2x GTX 1080 MSI Seahawk Watercooled in SLI.

Currently use everything from RTX 5090s, 7900XTXs/XT to Intel Arc B580/RTX 3050.

Dropping RDNA 2 is wild. I've been pretty loyal to AMD, but if they don't backtrack, and Nvidia prices things competitively, I'm out.

Didn't AMD just announce they're no longer going to support RNDA3 outside of quarterly security updates?

Personally I'd go 9070 xt but the stuff around maintenance for older rdna was overblown. It's an older more mature architecture. It won't get many new features but if there is a severe performance issue they'll work it. Every hardware/software company I've worked for does the same. they just worded it in a way that gave red meat to the tech press
