FYI - this is merely a return to regular price. Looks like it was >$200 for about 6 weeks in September/October then put back where it was on 10/29. View "all time" on the Price Intelligence tool or check out the image below.

As for the tool itself, as a semi-advanced DIY'er I thought this would be a huge timesaver but (and perhaps I was using it wrong) - it was very difficult for me to see where I was cutting with it and ended up with a lot of bad over and under cuts around outlet boxes.

What is the advantage of this over an oscillating tool?

Honestly probably not much. Oscillating is way more versatile and can do drywall

Curves? I never saw this overlapping with oscillating tools as far as use.

Do not buy this for making new cuts in old drywall, you're better off with a knife or oscillating tool for that. But if you are hanging new sheets in new construction or a remodel, this type of tool is amazing. Watch the second video that nottrollin posted above to see how quick and easy it is to make perfectly fit cutouts without measuring when hanging new sheets.

You would seriously prefer this for straight cuts across drywall vs a blade and break? I bought it for things like cutting out recessed light holes, etc myself

It can be used for that, but other options are easier to control, quieter, and much less messy. These tools are best used where there is something behind the drywall for the bit to follow around as shown in the 2nd video linked above.
