Choose accessories for BalanceFrom PC-1 Series Power Cage here: BalanceFrom PC-1 Compatible Accessories. The benefits of power racks are numerous; they allow for a safe free-weight workout by eliminating any dangers like falling weights, failure, or accidents by the use of bar catches on the side pegs. Another benefit is the ability for a lifter to handle more weight than they normally would using full-range equipment. It is also quite beneficial in keeping the shoulder healthy. A let pull-down exercise not only targets the latissimus dorsi muscles, but also strengthens the lower and middle trapezius, rhomboids, and serratus anterior muscles. The latissimus dorsi muscles are extremely vital for spine stabilization and a sportsman with a weak back will not be able to perform in his or her event to his or her potential. Heavy duty square steel frame construction with h-shape base for max stability and safety. Wide-grip Olympic is included when you choose this option. You can use any weight plate with a 2" hole or less. A large walk-in space with rubber feet ensures easy and safe workouts. Four J-Hooks included with Power Cage Two Multi Grip Dip Bars included with Power Cage. H-Shape for full stability. Assembled power cage dimensions: 81 in x 44 in x 47 in. Assembled cable crossover dimensions: 120" x 81" x 31.5". 145 Pounds (power cage only). 185 Pounds (power cage with let pull-down attachment). 40 Pounds (lat pull-down attachment only). 140 Pounds (cable crossover only). 1000 lb capacity. Your last sentence is a bit misleading. Most attachments will not fit this rack. It has tubing/uprights that are 2.3x2.3". The "universal" size is 3x3", with many other, less expensive racks using 2x2". If you want weight plate holders, spotter arms, lever arms, belt squat, etc., then you should buy the ones listed with this rack. Most will not fit. There were a couple of brands available on Amazon when this was on sale a couple of years ago, but unsure if they are still there. There are several threads on this rack here on SD. It looks like this is the old pic again, and the rack does not include the squat safety rails. I have this rack, and this is a great buy! Use washers on each end of the bolts when assembling for some added strength/stiffness. EDIT: I just noticed that the attachments state they fit 2.5x2.5" uprights. They may not fit this rack, which looks to be the same 2.3x2.3" rack that was sold the last time this was on clearance at Walmart.
I have this rack because I thought it was a good deal, and it is if you don't really need any other attachments other than the ones that come with it. If you're good with this, then this is a fantastic deal and you'll likely be satisfied with this. If you think you will be buying attachments for this that will bolt or be placed on the rack then you should reconsider. It is very difficult / impossible to find attachments because the uprights are not standard size. When I wanted a belt squat attachment I needed to drill new holes into an upright and love the fact that it does not fit nicely but still works just fine. When I wanted padded j cups to protect my bar, I needed to cut and stick furniture pads on the existing bar hooks since I could find any to fit the upright. It can be made to work, but will be need to be made to work instead of just buying something that fits.
Yes, specifically HulkFit. And if they are no longer in business, then that would limit some of the attachments as they are who primarily sold me mine.
Thanks for the correction. I should have said that there were multiple companies using the size not that the size was a standard.
This BalanceFrom power cage is a budget home gym starter that gets the basics done for squats, benching, pullups, and lat work. The cage and lat pulldown have held up well over time, and the low price is the main draw versus pricier racks. The biggest catch is attachment fit, since the uprights are an odd size and many third party accessories do not fit cleanly. The listing also appears to omit the safety bars or straps shown in photos, so it works best if you only need the included setup.
Home lifters building a first rack setup, because it gets training started cheaply and works well for basic squats, pullups, and lat pulldowns.
Lifters planning to add lots of third-party attachments, because the 2.3-inch uprights make many spotter arms, lever arms, belt squat parts, and plate holders incompatible.
Bench pressers who want a perfectly centered setup, because the bottom support bar sits far forward and can force the bench to be lifted into position.
Fitment is limited because the uprights are reported as 2.3x2.3" or 2.5x2.5" with 1" holes, not the common 3x3" standard. Some 2.5x2.5" accessories may fit with spacers, but many attachments like spotter arms, plate holders, lever arms, and belt squat setups may not bolt on cleanly.
Yes, the optional lat pull down/low row/cable crossover attachment is sold separately and has been reported to work well once installed. The bundle pricing can be confusing on the page, because selecting the rack versus the attachment alone may show different prices.
Yes, it is repeatedly described as a strong starter rack for the money and a good way to get a home gym going without spending much. The tradeoff is that it is mainly attractive if you are fine using the included setup and not planning on lots of add-on accessories.
No, the rack has been received without safety bars or safety straps, and the listing does not mention them. If those are important, this deal may require buying a different listing or sourcing third-party parts.
Wait so the attachments listed on that page won't fit the cage??
If they are made for 2.5x2.5", then they will fit but you will need to add spacers as they will be too big. I have this rack from a previous sale and bought my attachments through Amazon. The plate holders that I have were listed as HulkFit 2.3-inch x 2.3-inch. The safety catches were listed as Mikolo Safety Catches, Spotter Arms-Fit 2.36"x 2.36" Tube (60mm x 60mm). Neither is currently available (from the source I bought) on Amazon. I do see RitFit 2.36x2.36" safety arms and Amstaff 2.33x2.33" plate holders.
This is a great deal. I highly recommend this for most home lifters. I've had this station for a couple of years and it's perfect for my needs. I also bought the lat pulldown attachment, which has worked great.
I do need an idea for how to strap my legs down when doing those lat pulldowns.. Anyone rigged anything up to do that?
any third party vendor selling the safety bars? they are not included
I searched and searched. I couldn't find them anywhere. I elected to return mine and purchase the one for $197 that includes the lat pull down. That listing says it includes the safety straps. I'll believe when I see it but I thought it was my best option.
To people who have bought it: can you share safety bars you bought for this?
Not sure which ones to use for this cage. But some people make there own by using Iron Pipe from Home Depot. Search Google, several threads on people doing that with pictures and parts lists, if you want to go that route.

I have the spotter arms, that are $34.99, I have on a HulkFit fold out rack (made by same company with same oddball size). They are very long (2 feet). Not a safety bar that goes end to end on the rack, but very good and sturdy. Not sure if that is an option to put on the inside of the rack.
I have this one since 2021 to fight the pandemic. Worked out hard but still got covid in a few months. In 2022, wife wanted a greenhouse for her plants, so it has been transformed perfectly since.

Home lifters building a first rack setup, because it gets training started cheaply and works well for basic squats, pullups, and lat pulldowns.
Owners who only need the included rack features, because the uprights are a nonstandard size that makes extra attachments hard to source.
DIY gym builders willing to modify equipment, because drilled holes, spacers, and pipe-based safety bars can make hard-to-fit accessories usable.
Low-ceiling garage gym users, because the pullup bar can potentially be inverted during assembly for extra headroom.
Buyers who need included safety bars or straps, because multiple received units arrived without them and the listing does not clearly include them.
Lifters planning to add lots of third-party attachments, because the 2.3-inch uprights make many spotter arms, lever arms, belt squat parts, and plate holders incompatible.
Heavy squatters who want to trust the published capacity, because the rack has been shown folding under roughly 800 pounds in drop tests.
Bench pressers who want a perfectly centered setup, because the bottom support bar sits far forward and can force the bench to be lifted into position.
