I find it amusing that these cutters have been posted a handful of times in the last few months and for each deal post the comments tend to be either overwhelmingly positive, or overwhelmingly negative. But never a balance of positive/negative in the same deal posting.

I bought a couple pairs of these last spring and I've used them extensively. Best use so far for me has been while installing a new shingle roof. I used these to trim the synthetic underlayment, steel rain drip edges, asphalt starter strip and to trim the shingles for a nice straight clean edge. After all that they can still make a smooth cut in 20# paper.

My only complaint is with the latch that's supposed to hold them in the closed position. It didn't really latch well, but I fixed that with about 2 minutes and a file.

These are excellent, I'll probably grab another pair or two to put in the car, garage, etc. Solid scissors I've cut sheet metal with multiple times and still been able to cut paper afterwards no problem.

These are really great to have around, they cut through anything and everything. They are a joy to use.

I have a pair of these. They were great for cutting wire and other tough items. The nut on mine developed an issue where it would come loose, compromising the scissors' ability to cut anything. So I need to follow up with Lowe's on the warranty. I may still buy another pair to have around, but at least the initial durability and lifespan left a bit to be desired.

I bought same pair this summer at $7. Surprised Lowe's still has in stock . I've used them a lot more at my workbench than I expected to on metal, plastic, cardboard. They were great at Christmas gift unwrapping to cut through hard plastic packaging shells. Might get second pair for junk drawer to keep handy. Worth the $7.

That works, but you might want to consider kitchen shears that come apart for cleaning.

I just got home with my two. I think I might order two more after trying them out a bit.. seems hard to find good general purpose shears (largely for opening plastic packages) that don't suck.
Nice and smooth operation, good fit/finish, stout feeling full-tang handles. I didn't need to file the locking latch on mine to get them to latch, but I might anyway just to get them to engage more fully with less squeeze pressure on the handles.

Ready to throw a Fiskars pair in the trash because they're the opposite of these - tight/rough operation, imperfections in the blade causing unwanted 'catching', mostly plastic handles that aren't 'full-tang', and a horrible design that has a nasty pinch point right near the pivot that can easily pinch the base of your index finger really badly. Talking about these - don't ever buy these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N6NIVPG

These are great and at one time sold under a different brand name for $25 and were called electricians shears. True all purpose shears/snips/cutters that can still be used for fine work like scissors. I grab these more than I grab my aviation, tin or metal snips. The form factor is just so much nicer. Work great for just about anything, cut carpet, open packages, cut wire, sheet metal, vinyl, shingles and on an on.

Has anyone used these to cut up metal credit cards that are expired? That's what I really need.

Won't be a problem considering they can cut thin steel.

You'd be better off with some cable cutters with blade tips that curve inward to keep the strands from splaying out as you cut
