I have not seen this deal posted before but people in the military may all be aware of it so lets see how well it is received:.

The card members get full benefits so as long as you can qualify go for it.

American Express military fee benefits are an annual fee reduction to $0 on all Amex personal cards such as:

American Express Platinum Card®
American Express® Gold Card
American Express® Green Card*
Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant™ American Express® Card
Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card
Blue Cash Preferred® Card from American Express
Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card
*Information on the American Express® Green Card has been collected independently by Military Money Manual

To put in bluntly: active duty, Guard and Reserves on 30 day active orders, and military spouses can open any personal American Express card and pay no annual fees.

This appears to apply strictly to military members, not law enforcement.

These and several other AF waivers are based on the MLA and SCRA (which apply to cards acquired before AD). None of this applies to non‑AD, or even reserve, let alone veterans. The rules apply strictly to Military/DoD personnel. Also note that only certain interest‑rate caps are mandated by law passed by Congress; the annual fee is not, though some issuers waive it as a courtesy. I know Wells Fargo doesn't offer any military fee waivers.

This is nothing new.
