I see this suggestion/implication all the time on SD, but I never see anyone linking to peer-reviewed evidence that actually describes how skin contact with polyester is bad for you. I've also been unable to find it while doing a cursory Google search.

I play club sports and do road biking, so I've worn a lot of polyester-based fabrics (underwear, jerseys, biking shorts, etc.) for over a decade, and I haven't noticed any negative effects on my junk or anywhere else other than some minor armpit irritation from the first generation of UnderArmour tech fabric.

Everyone is obviously free to have their personal preferences, but framing this as a health issue without proving details isn't super helpful.
