FYI: if you have a Menards nearby, they carry one basically identical to this, but with USB-C charging so you don't need a dedicated charger for it.
They're also only $15.

Damn, just bought this on Amazon for ~$40. No regrets though, great product, cuts boxes in seconds. It's one of the top rated electric scissors tested by Project Farms on YouTube.

I don't know if it's worth $15 but the one from Amazon comes with an extra blade and storage bag.

Ewww electronics with proprietary charger, what is this 2005?
My first thought. I've got a Black and Decker one that has a USB C charging port. It sticks/jams up while trying to cut thick cardboard, but goes through your typical shipping boxes from Amazon/Walmart/etc easily.

Are these that much easier than utility knife?
I have had one for a couple years and use it regularly. I would say for normal boxes it is slightly easier than a utility knife, as well as a bit safer. However, when I'm doing a lot of thicker boxes my hands do get tired using this. This also works well to open plastic blister packages.

I really like mine and find when I am breaking down a lot of boxes for recycling I end up using this and the utility knife both. The more you use it the more you learn strengths/weaknesses.

Yep. Definitely gotta help 'push' it through fairly hard when it comes to thicker cardboard (like double corrugated stuff), to the point where it's probably just better to use a sharp utility knife... but for most everything else it's better/safer than a utility knife.

Based on a project farm review I just speedwatched. I think a fresh utility knife blade will beat it out most of the time. These are better than an old utility knife blade though, but life is too short not to keep a fresh one in with how cheap they are.
