Metro is locked to its own network and will not work with T-Mobile. It used to work the other way around, but I recall T-Mobile ended up blocking that as well. Don't count on using this Metro device on T-Mobile or any of its other MVNO until it is unlocked.

The only difference is that the 2024 edition has a slightly faster CPU...

The 2024 Moto G Power for $95 at Best Buy when you add the $26 Visible SIM. While not technically cheaper, it would be my suggestion. Some have reported being able to not pickup the SIM and just getting the phone for discounted price, which would be $70 if it worked out. No 365 day wait to get it unlocked, and the 2024 is a better device in some specs.
BB price went up to $105. Comes $110 with taxes for me.

The 2025 version is one of the worst phones I've ever used. I mean sure everything about it is actually really good. But the noise suppression on the mic is AWFUL. Im talking I would be screaming into the phone and I would still be cutting out. And the noise suppression is kernal level. So there's no turning it off

how is MediaTek Dimensity 6300?

Its ok but does use the older A76 cpu vs the 2024 Moto Power that has the 7020 that uses the A78.

The 2025 and 2026 power are downgrades in terms of CPU/GPU performance.

Many may not notice it but something to take into account.

How long until Total Wireless phones unlock? And only 1 paid month?
60-days service. So, two months. It is going to change with the latest FCC update allowing VZ to lock these phones for longer. For Total, second month can be made cheaper by using Stay Connected plan which is talk & text only for $10 plus taxes if this is not your primary number.

With the change in Verizon's unlock policy, this is possibly the cheapest way to get an decent unlocked device with a huge caviate of a wait time of 365 days. Happy to be corrected or more suggestions.

If you can port-in a spare number (from verizon or other mnvos outside of tmobile as google voice and tello etc have been reported not working with Metro), then there are a lot of other better deals with Metro.

Key Specifications for the 2025 Moto G Power:

Metro by T-Mobile requires the phone to be active on their network for 365 days to qualify for an automatic unlock.

doesn't say active but it could change in next 365 days before it unlocked. My previous Metro phones unlocked with just 1 month of service.

"Three hundred sixty-five (365) days must have passed since the device's activation date"
