I have the HomeKit version and it's the best WiFi garage door opener I've used. Unlike others I've tried, this one has never failed me and the iPhone and Apple Watch apps and controls are convenient and work as expected, every time.

I've used this model for over a decade with Android devices, Amazon Alexa, and Google Home. It had been fantastic and more consistent than MyQ that I encounter in other homes. I have installed these on family and friends garage doors that are exceptionally old but operating with only maintenance. I highly recommend.

Hey guys. I'm a new homeowner. I have a liftmaster motor and door opener. It seems compatible with myQ but apparently I need some kind of liftmaster wifi device to enable that. Will this work just as well?

Im curious what the use case is for this IoT device over just the standard opener
I have mine open the garage as I'm pulling into my neighborhood via geofencing, and it's bulletproof. If you wanted to you could have it close as you drive off too, but I need to see my garage close before I leave in the morning. Additionally it's just nice to have your garage opener with you at all times, or if you need to give family or service workers access to your house via your garage.

Heads up that the Security 2.0 / yellow learn button compatibility is essentially mounting this onto you wall switch for the garage. If you're comfortable with a little soldering, you can also just buy a spare garage remote, add a couple of leads to it, and connect this opener to that instead (which is what I did). That way, you just need to put the whole setup within radio range of your garage door vs. having wires coming off your wall switch.

Doesn't it also have door sensors to know if it's open or closed? So it would have to be installed nearby the door anyway?

Getting ready to order when I noticed I had already ordered this item in April of 24. Looking deeper, I ordered two! $23.41 each. A quick trip to the future project pile revealed, yes I have two and forgot to install them. LOL
I guess this is a good deal though considering $23 was a smoking deal 2 years ago.

It does, and it's hardwired. A bit more to setup, but no batteries to replace like the ones with the wireless sensor.
Instead of going the soldering route, if you want fully wireless, you can just get a myq for $20 or $30 that's fully wireless. But that one doesn't have an open API for automation.

Yeah my point is that you can tuck away the whole setup behind your garage racks or whatever rather than be highly visible around your button.

And exactly - I wanted my door to be usable on Alexa. Myq killed that integration

I have this and the features I use are (1) you can set the door to auto close if it has been opened for a certain amount of time during certain days of the week (like if you forgot to close the door on a weekday, it will auto close after X minutes), (2) you can use your phone to open and close the door, handy if you don't have the controller at times, (3) you can get notifications on your phone when the door opens and close, in case something is unexpected (like when you're away from home).

I also like the HomeKit version bc you can tell Siri to "open/close garage." Super convenient and widget. There are however some limitations such as if your garage opener isn't compatible, you have to contact Meross to get a piece of accessory. And if your home uses Eero, your HomeKit won't be compatible. Things to look out for.

Way back when before these became more popular. I was wondering why there isn't one when all it needs to do is touch two cables together to open/close - no need to worry about frequency.
Or at the very least, Macgyver an existing switch or plug to rig a device that can simulate pressing the actual garage door opener open/close.

Moved to this after myQ shit the bed with their subscription. Works great in combination with a TP Link smart switch and an Apple Shortcut. I'm able to use Siri to open and close the garage without unlocking the phone.
Haven't used app in ages, thanks for reminder and found issue with it; perfect time to replace myQ!

oh dang. do you know why it won't work with Eero routers?
