Had one of these, got rid of it. Laggy as hell. Once a thing shows up on screen, you can say 1 and then it shows up from the back. It should be real time, showing the events in the back as it pops up, that is what makes the experience really good.

Once you have a HDMI based setup, where it gets the signal from the HDMI port, you would think this is JUNK.

Not kidding about this. Ran a HDMI setup till I got a 4K TV with 120hz, it didn't work with it, so I tried this. And was completely disappointed with it.

Trust me, avoid this, find a HDMI based setup, way better and worth the more money it costs.

I've got either this or a very similar Govee model and love it.

Are there any differences between the models?

I keep waiting for the 75 in one.

I've had a single camera model as well for 4 years. I also can't justify upgrading. It still does a great job

I actually just installed this on my 55 inch. It was a tight fit, meaning it was almost too long. Be sure to follow the directions setting it up. I actually really like it.

imho, you're better off getting a flat back tv brand (yes, i actually went to bestbuy to look at the rear and profile of the tv's we bought) and using a thin but heavy duty wall mount. i hung two 65" tvs this way, and there simply is not enough room left between the bezel and my wall for such an LED gimmick to be effective.

The T2 is superior if you have it set up proper

When did you get it? It was heavenly up heavily updated, if it's calibrated properly especially with the saturation down at 1, on game mode and smooth the experience is dead on! I got the fancy LEDs and I got rid of it immediately and put the T2 back on, the colors were trash, super distracting.
I've recently purchased the t- '3 PRO' model, I'm on the fence... more light, more zones, but colors are far too often inaccurate and the general vibe is off amongst other issues that, 'might' be fixed with updates

Earnest question. What does this do? I've heard of illuminating behind the TV with a deep red to sort of provide a baseline level of brightness for your eyes. This provides streaks of colors against the wall that makes it seem like the TV is glowing past its boarders? Can someone explain what this down if we're streaming food network vs watching a 4k Blue-Ray BBC Nature documentary?

I had this question myself a few weeks ago, always wondered what the hype was about. Best guess I had was these gave you a stronger sense of immersion by roughly extending your screen colors more into your visual periphery, and changing dynamically when the screen colors did. I popped for a govee unit and installed it when they were on a flash sale two weeks ago.
The system works correctly and does what it is supposed to do, but for me the effect is kinda subdued/nuanced and not remotely comparable to the immersion of the game or movie itself. My viewing conditions, lighting and siting seem ideal, but I'm just not feeling it much. bottom line, YMMV.
On the other hand, the installation and design of the Govee kit was not great. The installation instructions were surprisingly really poor for a Govee product, in particular because there was a Getting Started sheet that only shared some steps with the owners manual, and not really in the same sequence. The camera mount attachment design and instructions didn't cover my situation, so I had to improvise (and don't install the camera as the first step in Getting Started). There strips and clip are apparently not designed to be easily reusable on another TV in the future. Access to the control pad will be difficult if you place it as suggested in the center of the back of a TV against a wall. And so on.
tldr: the immersion effect is very mild for me; I'd rather have my time and money back.
